It's not often that my partner asks me to photograph her games. To be present in the moment means putting the camera down - just watching; no distractions. But when she asked me to take photos the other week, I was happy to oblige.
I won't lie, I was nervous for this shoot. Would I get permission from the other team? Would I pick the correct spot? Would I even take any exciting photos? I often doubt the quality of my work, and want so badly to produce images that are meaningful to those in them.
Sport has been such an important part of my life and journey; I know what it meant to me when the moments were documented. They are memories that become ever more precious as the end becomes nearer than the beginning.

A few months back I had the pleasure of shooting a family sesh for a very good friend before she moved back to Canada. These images were made even more special as Ryder, her oldest woofer, passed away not too long after this shoot.

Pre-season games are some of my favourite times of the year to shoot soccer.
Caboolture SFC [FQPL1] vs Samford Rangers [FPL2] was a physical contest for both U23s and Womens, with Caboolture ultimately taking out the win.
