One of the greatest privileges of being a family photographer is watching families grow, and this beautiful family has trusted me to capture every milestone along the way. ❤️

From precious moments with their little ones to all the memories in between, I’ve had the honour of documenting so many chapters of their story. But this session was extra special.

Not only was I invited to capture another beautiful milestone, but I was also let in on a very exciting little secret before the rest of the world knew. Being trusted with such a meaningful moment and having the opportunity to preserve these memories forever is something I never take for granted.

Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do. Seeing families grow, celebrating alongside them, and creating images that will be treasured for generations truly makes my heart so happy.

I adore every single newborn who comes through my studio.

The tiny ones, the sleepy ones, the curious ones, the cuddly ones; I genuinely love photographing them all.

But I do have a special soft spot for the chunky babies.

The babies with cheeks that spill over their swaddles. The babies with wrist rolls, thigh rolls, and little folds that seem to appear out of nowhere. The babies who look like they've made a full-time job out of drinking milk and growing rolls on rolls.

There is just something so irresistibly sweet about a beautifully chubby newborn.

Every time I edit their gallery, I find myself smiling at those squishy cheeks and perfect little rolls, knowing how quickly this stage will pass.

So this is my official appreciation post for all the gloriously chunky babies who have visited my studio over the years.

You hold a very special place in my heart. 🤍

Black and white photographs have always held a special place in my heart.

There is a quiet beauty in their simplicity. Without colour, the focus falls on what matters most: the tiny details, the gentle expressions, and the deep love that surrounds a new baby.

They feel timeless. Unaffected by trends. The kind of images that grow more meaningful with each passing year.

That is why every newborn gallery I deliver includes both the colour and black and white version of every image. Some moments are beautiful in colour, while others seem to speak more deeply in black and white.

Almost 10 years ago, I photographed my very first newborn baby. Since then, I’ve had the incredible honour of photographing more than 3,000 tiny humans and the families who love them so deeply.

And after all these years, one thing has become so clear to me…

These photographs only become more valuable with time.

Right now, you might be in the middle of sleepless nights, tiny feeds, endless washing, and wondering how they’ve already changed so much in just a few weeks. But one day, these images will hold memories you can’t possibly imagine yet, the curl of their lips, the softness of their hair, the way they fit perfectly in your hands.

My goal has never been to create “trendy” images that feel dated in a few years. I want every family who trusts me with their newborn memories to receive photographs that still feel beautiful, emotional, and relevant decades from now.

Because these aren’t just photos for today.

They’re for the future version of you who will look back and remember exactly how this season felt.

They’re for your children one day.

And maybe even for their children too.
