Sunrise from Paul Landa Reserve, Pearl Beach

A very different start to the day at Pearl Beach.
Rather than the usual brilliant sunrise colours, this morning was all about the atmosphere — heavy clouds, distant rain showers over Broken Bay and patches of warm morning light appearing along the horizon.

With the moon still visible behind me, I spent some time wandering around Paul Landa Reserve and watching the conditions change across the water.
I particularly like mornings like this photographically.

They may not deliver the classic colourful sunrise, but the changing weather can produce something far more dramatic.

Sunrise at Lakes Entrance, Victoria 🌅

There is something worthwhile about being out before most people are awake — especially when the sky decides to put on a display like this.

The morning started down by the fishing boats, with a spectacular sweep of cloud catching the first light of sunrise.

As the colour softened, I headed higher for a completely different perspective across the lakes and towards the entrance and ocean beyond.
Lakes Entrance certainly delivered a memorable start to the day.

Sunrise at Narooma, NSW South Coast 🌅

An early morning on the rocks at Narooma with the camera set up waiting to see what the sunrise would bring.

There was plenty of cloud around, but just enough of a break along the horizon for the early light to come through and give the sky that beautiful strip of pink, orange and gold.

Conditions like this are part of what makes landscape photography interesting. You can plan the location, check the weather and be there at the right time — but ultimately nature decides what you're going to photograph.

A great way to start a morning on the NSW South Coast.

There’s something about a Long Jetty sunset that never gets old.

Here is one of the final images taken, and im pretty happy with the outcome

Long Jetty putting on a show as the last light fades across Tuggerah Lake — calm water, warm colour and one of those evenings that makes you stop for a minute and just take it in.
