Three is the magic number ✨

Our Newport Collection is the Goldilocks of the family šŸ˜ She’s just right so all you need to think about is the size!

Starting from 11x14 and going right up to 40x50 (or bigger if you need!), we have something for every budget and every space.

Plus, we sit down and design your wall art together so you can be certain you’ll be as thrilled as I am when they arrive - ready to be adored and admired forever and ever…

It’s my big brother’s birthday today - so now it looks like I’ve deliberately held off posting these photos we shot in DECEMBER šŸ™ŒšŸŽ‰

Not sure how we’re both rapidly approaching 50 when I feel like we’re the ages of my gorgeous nephews - the math aint mathing somehow…

Happy birthday bro x

Finally I hear you say! Another Humans of Newport instalment šŸ™Œ

This is an unusual sighting for two reasons - JOHN spotted somewhere other than Bayview Dog Park and also without his faithful pal RUSTY šŸ•

What to say about John? Where to begin? He knows literally every dog’s name at the dog park plus a fun fact about them or their owner, he loves a chat and a gossip (and a dirty joke) but he has a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

John’s often looking after other people’s dogs - even today six weeks after a knee replacement he’s walking a friend’s schnauzer while they’re in hospital. He’s had a fascinating life, working in TV and driving trucks across the country and at 79 his lust for life and endless interest in people doesn’t seem to be fading - name a topic and John has a story or a joke to reel out. And he always amazes me by remembering not just my kid’s names but my sister who he met once and always asks after 🤯

I don’t get to the dog park much these days as Ziggy finds it a little overwhelming (let’s not get started on my poor dog’s anxiety 🤪) so it was a lovely surprise when John appeared on my doorstep just now on his way to the dentist next door ā¤ļø Made my day, thanks John!

It’s been a rocky couple of months honestly - a combination of factors, karma coming to bite me for being a nightmare teenager (sorry once again to my mum šŸ˜‘), my own hormones, feeling burnt out from doing everything myself in my business, the small matter of the world turning to s**t around us - and I’ve been feeling myself descending into an anxiety spiral that I haven’t felt since Covid days.

I’m never the best at consistently showing up on socials as much as I’d like but lately the imposter syndrome and the feeling that what I have to share is all a little pointless in the scheme of things have ground me to a halt.

Sonia articulated this so much better than me, but I’ve started to lift my head out of the swamp and realise that everyone’s going through it right now and I’m not alone in these feelings.

Running a business is basically a mindset game and this is the biggest wobble I’ve had since opening the studio three years ago. The real kicker is I was just gaining momentum and growing a team - but maybe this is just something that happens before a period of expansion… I honestly was on the verge of throwing in the towel and shutting up shop two weeks ago which now feels a little crazy but there we are šŸ˜¬šŸŽ¢

I don’t really have a neat takeaway or lesson here. Just trying to keep showing up, doing the work I love and trusting that this feeling will pass.

And maybe that’s all any of us can do right now - just our small part. Keep creating, keep caring, keep doing the thing we’re good at, even when it feels a bit pointless. Because maybe it isn’t.
