Trafalgar Holden Museum – ROUTE 69 CRUISE DAY

Sunday, 18th October was all about the Trafalgar Holden Museum’s Route 69 Cruise Day and what a turnout it was!

We arrived a little later than planned after squeezing in Berwick Breakfast beforehand, but arriving late certainly had its advantages. With well over 500 Holdens on display the place was absolutely packed! It was fantastic sight seeing so many cars and people all together in one hit. Usually, I watch the cars trickle in throughout the morning so arriving to find the whole place buzzing was a refreshing change. Who knew being late could have its perks?

The event’s name has a special meaning, celebrating 69 years of GMH motor vehicle manufacturing in Australia with the cruise itself covering 69 kilometres through the beautiful Gippsland countryside. A fitting tribute to an iconic part of Australian motoring history!

The morning flew by as we explored the incredible variety of Holdens, admired some seriously tidy machinery, and checked out the latest additions to the museum before everyone geared up to hit the road for the cruise.

Great cars, great people, plenty of Holden history and a whole lot of horsepower in one place. It was a brilliant day celebrating everything we love about Australian motoring! 🇦🇺

Berwick Breakfast Classic Cars & Rods was absolutely pumping on Sunday!

We arrived a little later than usual at around 7:30am, only to find the place already packed. Car parks were full, side streets were lined with cars and people were everywhere. Clearly, sleeping in wasn’t on the agenda for this crowd!

Even Victoria Police dropped in to check out the action, share the passion and have a few great yarns with the crowd. They were more than happy to stop for a chat making it another great example of what these events are all about.

Great cars, good people, mutual respect and a few laughs along the way. That’s what makes this community so special. It’s not just about what we drive, but the people we meet and the connections we make along the way.

Berwick Breakfast certainly knows how to bring the crowds together. At this rate, we might need an earlier alarm and a bigger car park!

The Classic & Rod Club of Vic kicked off its Friday Cruize Night season with a massive turnout and a brilliant atmosphere.

With family, friends and car enthusiasts coming together on a beautiful evening there was plenty to admire. From polished classics and tough hot rods to ratters with attitude. The vibe had a bit of Yea Cruize Night mixed with Ratts, Tatts & Pin-Ups. A great combination of cool cars, good company and plenty of character.

✖️ My pick of the night was a 1951 Chevrolet Ute.

Finished in layered grey paintwork with a blue dividing stripe and black roof, this rig nailed the balance between modern toughness and classic styling. The chrome grille and wheels really set it off but those rear wheels stole the show.... seriously wide with dish for days!

And it wasn’t just about looks. This ute sounded every bit as tough as it appeared. Proving that some machines can deliver on both style and substance.

A cracking start to the season with plenty of quality machinery and good company to make it a night worth getting out for.

Gembrook Coffee & Cars — ABSOLUTELY PACKED!

Sunday at Gembrook was next level! Easily the biggest turnout I’ve seen, with cars spilling over the hill in both directions and every side street packed. Finding a park was practically a competitive sport!

The vibe was electric with fresh builds, new additions from the regulars and plenty of new faces. Throw in coffee from Over the Road Gembrook and drinks flowing at The Motorist Distillery for the big Bathurst race and Gembrook was absolutely buzzing!

✖️MY PICK OF THE MORNING — PETE’S 1972 CHEVROLET CAMARO SS COUPE

This week’s favourite belongs to regular Pete and his new toy and what a weapon it is!

That vibrant orange paint paired with charcoal stripes is an absolute head-turner. Pop the bonnet and the immaculate engine bay takes things up another notch. Every detail has been considered and the result is seriously impressive.

The modern charcoal and chrome wheels with that perfect amount of dish just finish's off the stance beautifully. Even the boot has been given the same attention to detail, tying in with the interior.

Pete has always had great taste in cars but this one is an absolute home run.

Orange, attitude and attention to detail this Camaro ticks every box!
