I’ve always believed that photographs are part of our emotional inheritance. A single image can outlive almost everything else.

Almost three years ago, I photographed this family as they welcomed a little girl into the world. This time, I returned to find her standing proudly beside her baby sister.

I don’t have the words for what it feels like to be invited back to these stories.

To be trusted with each unfolding season is something I never take for granted.

No unfamiliar surroundings, No rushing from one location to the next next. Just the quiet comfort of home, where these photographs become part of the story they’re preserving.

One day, these rooms will look different. The furniture will change. Tiny feet will replace the quiet.

One of my favourite things about being a photographer is documenting women through the different seasons of their lives.

Motherhood is one of those seasons. Beautiful, overwhelming, transformative … and often the one where women forget to preserve a little of themselves too.

Years from now, I want these photographs to bring you back to how it all felt, the quiet anticipation, the softness, the strength, the woman you were before it all changed.

Because one day, these photographs won’t just tell your child where their story began.

They will remind you of a version of yourself that deserves to be remembered too.

It’s spaces like this, the texture, the stone, the soft window light, the create an atmosphere that feels cinematic without taking away from the people in it. Just enough mood and character to let the emotion speak for itself.
