A Few Years Under the Night Sky ✨

These are some of the night sky images I’ve captured over the last couple of years here in Tasmania.

And honestly, no matter how many times I stand beneath it, I’m still amazed every time I look up.

There’s something incredibly humbling about seeing the Milky Way stretching across the sky, thousands of stars scattered above, and the landscape sitting quietly beneath it all. For a few moments, everything feels a little smaller, slower and more peaceful.

What makes Tasmania so special is how much of this darkness we can still experience. Away from the lights of our cities and towns, the night sky can feel almost untouched — a reminder of what the sky has looked like for generations before us.

But dark skies are something we need to protect.

Light pollution doesn't just wash out the stars we see in photographs. Artificial light can affect wildlife, ecosystems and our own connection with the natural world. Tasmania's relatively low light pollution is something truly worth preserving, not only for photographers and stargazers, but for future generations who deserve to experience a genuinely dark night sky.

Every time I’m out photographing the stars, I’m reminded that we’re incredibly lucky to have places like this.

So these aren't just photographs of stars to me.
They're little pieces of Tasmania's darkness — and a reminder of why it's worth protecting. 🌌

Look up once in a while. There’s an entire universe waiting for you.

Catching up with my edits after a while. 😊

I’ve been figuring out quite a few things lately, and I’ve felt a little lost with my creative direction. But I’m slowly finding my way back and enjoying the process again.

Some of my edits take a decent amount of time to refine and review. I often find myself going back and forth, making tiny adjustments until I’m finally happy with the result.
