The warm weather’s been nice this summer but I’m kinda getting excited for Tassie’s off season this year.

I was looking back through my phone and found this short vid from a night we had at last year.

I hadn’t been up to the central highlands before so we were really excited to explore. We took some wines, gins and whiskies from some of our brand partners up there with us and ended up capturing some of our fav content in the wilderness.

Sometimes it’s nice to strip back the production and just go with the moment.

What a festival. I don’t think I’m gonna need to eat again for another week after that!

So fortunate to meet, work, hang, and eat alongside so many new and old friends at 2026 this past weekend.

Tasmania to me is all about community, it revolves around the solid foundation that is the hospitality industry and from the stallholders to security, volunteer’s and medical staff, the respect and camaraderie I witnessed over the festival was so humbling be a part of.

How lucky are we to be a part of this incredible multicultural melting pot of a state, where you’re only ever a stones throw away in any direction from beautiful food.

Hats off to the committee and every piece of the puzzle for another incredible year!

It’s been an absolute whirlwind of a Q3, we really haven’t had a moment to sit and reflect properly during one of our most intense years, let alone quarters so far for Sileo.

But just taking a long overdue moment to intro you to this absolute darling, pocket rocket of a human here.

Some of you might have noticed that my wife J-L has been hanging out on my shoots recently to assist and force water down my throat when I forget to hydrate.

Much more than that though, we’ve been quietly evolving and providing more solutions in the social media realm on-top of Sileo’s photography & videography limbs so it’s been really quite an intense but a very worthwhile and logical progression, and having chewed her ear off for 4 years now about the ins and outs of what I do, J-L has been able to help me systemise my brain better, taking over some (actually a lot of) tasks and helping me do the hard stuff I keep avoiding. And honestly, so far working with wifey has been awesome, 10/10 would recommend.

So for those who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting my better half, please meet Jaime-Lee aka J-L - bookkeeper, CFO, hand model, lighting assistant, support human, social media apprentice, email hawk, calendar organiser, and the best human you’ll ever meet. ❤️

What an epic weekend of feasting, chatting and learning about where we get our produce from here in Tassie - thank you .

These past couple of days have opened my eyes to what’s really going on behind the scenes in hospo in terms of food wastage, sustainability, fermentation and farming culture.

We have such a beautiful restaurant scene in Tasmania but there’s so much hard work and passion that goes into what you see on your plate, it’s not all pretty but it’s evolving and we’re moving toward a wider understanding and appreciation throughout the industry - and festivals like these bring home the importance of taking care of what’s in your own backyard for future generations to come.

Thank you to the team at for having me along for the ride to capture some moments, here’s a glimpse of the festival through my eyes, but you should definitely get to next year’s festival to discover the magic for yourself.
