If I had a dollar for every time I heard this before a session, I’d have a lot of dollars.

And I get it completely. At home, your baby sleeps. A lot. So it makes sense that you’d walk in, pop them down, take a few photos and be home in time for the next feed.

Here’s the reality.

Newborn sessions with me typically run between two and four hours. Not because anything is going wrong, but because everything is going right.

Your baby needs to be fed, settled and comfortable before I can even begin to move them into a pose. Then there’s the wrapping, the positioning, the warming of the studio, the settling in between setups. If they wake up, we stop. If they need a feed, we stop. If they just need a moment, we stop.

Because the only clock in my studio is your baby’s.

I work entirely at their pace. There is no rushing, no pushing through, no “let’s just get this shot.” Every single image in a newborn gallery is the result of patience, experience and knowing exactly how to read a baby who can’t tell you what they need.

If you’re expecting and you’d love to know more about what a session with me actually looks like, send me a message through the link in my bio. I’d love to hear from you. ❤️

I hear this almost every week. ‘My husband’s not really a photo person.’ And honestly? Neither are most of the dads who walk through my door. They come because she asked them to. They stand a little stiff at the start. They’re not sure what to do with their hands.

And then something happens, usually around the time I put that tiny baby into their arms, and the whole session changes. I show them the back of the camera and they start to fall in love with their photos. By the time we are finished the ordering appointment they are saying how much they love the photos.

Thats one of the best parts of my job!

Practising what I preach and existing in memories with my babies ❤️

I skipped my annual mother’s day photos this year because…. life. I had every reason under the sun why I didn’t have time for photos. We had nothing to wear, my hair wasn’t done, I couldn’t be bothered to do my makeup, we are so busy right now I will wait until sport commitments stop..

Then I realised something.

Those are the exact reasons most mums tell me they keep putting photos off too.

There will always be a reason to wait. A busier season. A few extra kilos to lose. A better time. A new outfit. More money. Less chaos.

But our children aren’t waiting.

They’re growing, changing, and becoming more independent right in front of us.

So I put on whatever I could find, did a quick swipe of makeup, and got in the frame.

Because one day these photos won’t remind my children of what I looked like. They’ll remind them that I was there. Loving them, hugging them, laughing with them, and sharing this season of life together.

And that’s worth so much more than perfect hair, perfect outfits, or perfect timing. ❤️

I’ve been doing this for twelve years and there’s one thing I notice at every single session. Mum walks in and the first thing she says is, ‘Sorry if he’s unsettled’ or ‘She didn’t sleep last night, I hope that’s okay.’ Before I’ve even said hello, she’s already apologising. For her baby. For herself. For taking up space.

Nobody tells you that becoming a mother means the whole world shifts its gaze, and sometimes you shift with it. You stop being the main character in your own story because this tiny person needs you to be everything. And mostly that’s beautiful. But sometimes, in the quiet moments, it’s a lot.

I photograph mums because I know what it feels like to want to be seen in that season. Not instead of your baby. Alongside them. If that’s something you’d love, I’d really love to hear from you.

Winter family photos are so much better than summer family photos 🙈

Okay, maybe that’s controversial...

But hear me out.

✨ Earlier sunsets (hello, happy kids)✨ Softer, more flattering light✨ Beautiful layers and textures✨ No sweating through your outfit before we’ve even started

Most importantly?

Winter naturally brings families closer together.

More cuddles. More connection. More of the moments you’ll actually want to remember.

If you’ve been putting off updating your family photos, winter might just be the perfect time!

✨ Winter session dates are now open. Send me a message for details.

Those newborn days are a strange mix of exhaustion and overwhelming love.

The days feel long, but somehow the weeks disappear.

One minute they fit perfectly curled up on your chest… and before you know it, they’ve already changed.

That’s why I believe these moments deserve to be documented. Not perfectly. Just honestly.

The tiny details.
The connection.
The way it felt to hold your baby in those very first weeks.

I only take a limited number of newborn sessions each month to ensure every family receives a relaxed and personalised experience.

If you’re expecting and would love to preserve this chapter before it slips by, I’d love to hear from you.

Your baby only turns ONE once.

One year since the late nights.
One year since those tiny newborn cuddles.
One whole year of watching them grow from a sleepy little baby into a tiny person with the biggest personality.

And honestly? That first year goes by in a blur.

Cake smash sessions are about so much more than cake.

They’re about celebrating everything this first year held.
The laughter.
The chaos.
The milestones.
The way they scrunch their little nose when they smile.
The cheeky expressions you never want to forget.

These sessions are fun, relaxed, and full of personality. No pressure for your little one to “perform.” We simply let them explore, play, make a mess, and capture this beautiful stage exactly as it is.

Because before you know it, they won’t be this little anymore.

I only take a few cake smash sessions each month. If you’re interested in celebrating your baby’s first birthday with photos you’ll treasure forever, get in touch.

You don’t realise how much changes until suddenly they’re not that little anymore.

One day you’re rocking them to sleep at 2am, completely exhausted, wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again.

Then somehow… they’re running ahead of you. Talking in full sentences. Losing the baby softness in their cheeks.

And you’re scrolling through your camera roll trying to find proof that those tiny days really happened.

That’s why photos matter.

Not because life has to look perfect. Not because your house is spotless. Not because you’ve “bounced back.”

But because your children will never see the things you criticise about yourself.

They’ll only see you.Their safe place.Their home. The way you looked at them when they were little.

And one day, these photos will become part of their story too.

The proof that you were there. That you loved them fiercely. That this season existed.

Even on the days that felt ordinary. Comment NEWBORN to start planning your session.

Because what you see in my work… isn’t straight out of the camera.

It’s intentional.

Every image you see has been shaped, not changed, not overdone, but refined.

The light is balanced.
The tones are warmed.
The small distractions are removed.

It’s the difference between a photo…and a finished piece.

When you choose a photographer, you’re not choosing what their camera captures in a split second.

You’re choosing how they see,
how they finish,
and how they preserve your memories.

Raw files are simply the starting point.
Not the final story.

And I care far too much about how your memories are held
to leave them unfinished ❤️
