M&J are two of the most gracious people we have had the pleasure of photographing. We noticed it back at their engagement shoot, the way M looked at J. It is the kind of look you cannot pose for or ask someone to fake. You just wait for it, and you catch it when it comes.

There is a lovely thread to this one too. A few years back we photographed M's twin brother, J, on his own wedding day. That day led to this one, and being trusted with both brothers feels like a genuine honour. It is not something we take lightly. 🙏🏻

A rainy Brisbane day, bubbles down the aisle, a room full of people who clearly adore them. We were just there to hold onto it.

Why this works: it opens on the couple, not the camera. The twin story sits in the middle where it deepens the post rather than leading with a flex. The last line quietly says what we do without ever using the word "documentary."

A&B, this one stays with us.

A made so much of this day with her own hands. The menus, the newspaper, the little tattoos in the bowl, the signs. You could feel the hours in every detail, and somehow that made each moment matter a bit more.

Nobody held anything back. There were happy tears during the speeches, big laughs in the garden, quiet looks under the veil, and a champagne tower that got the whole crew cheering. Family and friends showed up with their whole hearts, and it showed.

A day built with love, celebrated the same way. Thanks for letting us be there for all of it. 😍🎉

Y & J built this one by hand.

The photo wall, the ramen bar, the drawings filling up the welcome board. Cup noodles between courses. A room full of people who travelled a long way and were glad they did. All of it thought through by a couple whose first instinct is to make other people comfortable.

By the evening they had stopped checking the run sheet and were just in it, laughing with their families, catching each other's eye across the tables.

Warm hearts, warm day. 😍🙏🏻

T & M's engagement session, and this pair made it easy from the first frame.

Some couples want quiet and still. Some want to run across the grass and end up mid air. There's no right way to do this, and that's the whole point. We talk it through first, what feels like them, what they actually want to remember, and then we go make that happen. This is what T & M chose. Big laughs. A bit of chaos. Zero performance.

The big moments get all the attention.

The vows, the first dance, the exit.

But the wedding is also everything in between. The bubbles you forgot were coming. The temporary tattoo someone insisted on. The dancing that gets a little out of hand.

None of it is unimportant. All of it is the day.

So here's the thing. The more you let go and actually live it, the more there is for us to catch.

Some weddings you photograph. Some you get to live.

H&R's was the second kind. R is the younger brother of Peter from , who we shoot weddings with, so this day carried a bit more weight for us. We had been talking since the very first consult, and by the time the morning came around it felt like showing up for people we genuinely cared about, not just a job in the diary.

And the day gave us everything. The nervous quiet of getting ready, the cheers down the aisle with the river behind them, the groomsmen losing it, the dance floor that did not stop. We were not standing on the edge of it. We were in it, celebrating right alongside everyone else.

That is always the goal. To be a guest as much as a photographer, to feel the day with you and hand it back so you can feel it again. Thank you for letting us in, H&R. We will not forget this one. 🙏🏻😊

Over the past few years we have photographed weddings across a lot of different cultures here in Brisbane and beyond.

Vietnamese tea ceremonies. Indian henna mornings. Korean hanbok on the dance floor. Door games, red envelopes, lion dances, a flower girl in a hanbok with her tongue out.

Every culture does this differently. The colours, the dress, the order of the day, the small rituals that mean everything to the people in the room.

We come in as guests to all of it. We learn the moments that matter before we ever lift the camera, and we ask when we are not sure.

The honest truth is that every wedding teaches us something we carry into the next one. The more traditions we sit inside, the better we get at knowing where to stand and when to stay quiet.

So if your day looks nothing like the last wedding we shot, good. That is the part we love most. 😊

K + P chose to keep it small. No big crowd, no long guest list. Just the people who matter most, standing close on a hilltop with the Glass House Mountains stretched out behind them.

We watched the faces around them all day. The kids running through petals, the quiet hands doing up a dress, the way every person there was fully present. It was a good reminder that the biggest moments are not about how many people show up. They are about being surrounded by the ones you love, making something you get to keep. 😊
