You can’t underestimate the impact of vibrant colour in the workplace. It transforms the feel of your space for staff and your clients, and it offers a window to calm.

I have a beautiful collection of original photographic art in a choice of sizes, printed as stunning, frameless metallic prints. Check out the Fine Art Print Shop www.eyefood.com.au/fine-art

It's always a pleasure to photograph a GoodHouse, and they have excelled with the launch of their budget, off-the-plan PocketHouse range.

With such clever design, I struggled to believe it was a smaller-than-average house.

For the cost of a “cookie-cutter” entry-level build, PocketHouse offers a refined living environment that’s completely solar-powered, with enough space left over for a backyard!

It’s estimated that nearly 30,000 Australians suffer from younger-onset dementia. Many of these people end up in aged care facilities, which isn’t really the best outcome. I spent some time photographing this amazing purpose-built younger-onset facility for St Louis Homes at Aldinga.

The balcony looks over the water, which boasts one of the best locations to watch a sunset in Adelaide. It’s an amazing, light and airy building, but as I've seen first-hand, the staff are the real treasure at St Louis facilities.

As a young person who was fascinated by anything with wheels, the Z900 Kawasaki was an exotic, graceful monster of a bike. One of my most vivid memories of my time spent pumping petrol at St Bernards Motors in Magill was of a candy-apple-blue Z900 pulling up into a full wheelstand and flying up the road.

Fast-forward 40 years and I haven’t shaken the excitement of seeing a Z900. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to photograph this stunningly restored example before it was returned to its owner by Finch Restorations.

I was back in Sunny Hobart for another shoot with the incomparable In2Construction. The quality of designs and ex*****on of their projects is of the highest order. It’s such a pleasure to walk into a space and be so spoilt for visual opportunities.

Occasionally, you come across people who create masterful works of art. In this case, the artwork is the Morning Star, a wedding venue in Wistow.

Every nook has been considered with beautiful touches that create one of the most cohesive and charming venues I have ever had the good fortune to photograph.

In essence, photography for educational advertising needs to convey the school's values and show sharp and engaged children.

I believe I have such a high success rate when photographing kids because they can tell I’m genuinely interested in them, and I don’t demand that they perform.

I’ll set up in advance and get the kids arranged where they’ll need to be. Importantly, I’ll let them know that we can have several goes at each shot, so there is no real pressure.

Then we can get on with the important business of having a joyful exchange; I just happen to be busy taking photographs along the way…

Ultimately, a portraiture shoot needs to be enjoyable, or you’ll end up with photos of people who aren't enjoying themselves…

There is an inherent simplicity to good design.

It's a pleasure to photograph such considered packaging. From the faceted bottle to the crisp foiled logo on a delicately textured black box.

Every element speaks of elegance.

Is it cheating to shoot architecture in one of the most picturesque and beautiful cities in the country?

I do love Hobart.

I’ve just put the finishing touches to a considerable body of photography for the kind folk at St Louis Nursing Homes. They are a family-run business in their eightieth year.

The brief was broad, including portraiture of the staff and residents, interior and exterior architecture, gardens, activities and services, and rounded it off with some pet photography.

The key staff were inspiring to see in action. They knew everyone by name, which room they were in, the names of their immediate family and most importantly, their health needs.

I was genuinely impressed. They have immaculate purpose-built facilities in great locations run by a caring team.
