About the shot 📸

Recently, I flew over to California and had the chance to catch up with the one and only Bukue One, fresh off the release of his new release“Spitfire.”

Knowing that he grew up in the area we were staying in, I asked him if he’d take me to the house he grew up in. I wanted to capture something a little more personal, Bukue sitting in front of the place where his story began.

There was something pretty special about photographing him in front of his old home, connecting the artist he is today with the place that helped shape him.

He shared stories of him running up and down the street and the memories shared, it felt like I was living in that moment with him.

In January in got to visit one of Xzibit’s w**d dispensaries in Los Angeles the staff was super friendly and the place smelt amazing 🙂 can’t wait to go back, it was so cool seeing one of my favourite hip hop artist of all time have his own w**d spot so I had to document it.
