I was recently commissioned to do a really interesting portrait for by ._studio in the UK.

They wanted a portrait of a local agent for their team website shot in the existing style. But not your standard portrait, a moving photo, a gif. Such a simple but really unique and effective idea! I just love it!

As a designer and total geek, I was thrilled to have a challenge and to do something quite different which, in 17 years of photographing, I’ve never been asked to do before. Donovan was a great portrait subject and we had fun with the actions.

Thanks to their team for reaching out, it was such a fun commission and kudos to the B&Co Studios for a cool concept and such clear instructions to follow and meet their requirements. I love working in photoshop and creating the GIF was super simple and fun.

SICMF 2026 Photographic Coverage

How is it even possible to choose a handful of top images from ten days of utterly magical moments? Each day I shot roughly 500 images and narrowed that down to a selection of 150-250 final shots. The task is overwhelming, the sheer variety of types of shots in a festival like SICMF is enough to keep me indecisive for weeks. So I’ve randomly selected 20 from different categories of shots which I love and encapsulate the event. And I’ll probably post a few more selections over the next few weeks.

The artistry, the intensity of focus, the friendships and camaraderie, the learning, giving and gratitude are all aspects which make it such a special event.

I recently entered the Orms CT School of Photography Orms Vergelegen Wine Estate annual photography Competiton for the first time this year. The theme was black and white. I was not placed but had such a wonderful afternoon shooting on their beautiful estate.

The Piano Graveyard Revival Project by Cape Piano lead by Nina Schumann is the most inspiring project and the only one of its kind that I know of. I’m so glad to be a part of this amazing initiative to source pianos which are sitting unused, restore and rehome them within needy communities across South Africa.

Music is an incredible force for good in young people’s lives and has the power to bring people from diverse backgrounds together.
