It’s been a while since I posted on Instagram. While I've been busy with other obligations, I’ve also not been very motivated to post. Rest assured, though, I’m still picking up the camera and capturing stories of nature.

Last week, I went out to photograph a small population of Colorado fireflies, and while I got a few images, they weren't what I was hoping for. If you've ever tried to photograph fireflies, or simply see them, you know they only display for a couple of weeks out of the year.

Anyway, I went back out hoping for better "luck". While I still didn't achieve what I was after, I got something possibly more special and far more rare.

While waiting for the fireflies, I noticed a small patch of native Blue Vervain. Then I noticed something even more special—When I looked through the viewfinder, I noticed the heatwaves were causing the setting sun to dance. So I got down low, set up the composition,, and captured this little dancing "fire-flower."

Currently traveling through the coastal communities of British Columbia riding bikes and taking a few pictures along the way. No real photography genda beyond enjoying the road and seeing where nature leads next. This was just a little cell phone drop, but moments like this are hard to pass up.

The carving standing against the ocean and sky felt like a quiet reminder of the deep history and culture woven throughout the coast here. Road trips like this always remind me that not every image needs to be planned — sometimes it’s simply about slowing down, exploring, and appreciating the stories carved into the landscape around us.
