We spent some time at Forsyth County NC Animal Shelter last week photographing some pretty amazing pups. 🐾

Not gonna lie… it was hard not to bring one home.

Shelters are overflowing right now. If you can’t adopt, consider fostering, volunteering, donating, or simply sharing FCAS’s original posts.

Meet Guinevere 💛
This sweet 1-year-old girl (36 lbs) is starting to get a little sniffly, and we’d love to get her into a home before it turns into something more.

She’s an active, fun pup who enjoys her space and would do best as your one-and-only (or with slow, respectful intros). She came in as a stray and has been very sweet with people—she just needs a cozy place to rest and recover.

✨ Short-term foster (about 2 weeks)
✨ We provide ALL supplies + support
✨ You provide the love and a safe place to land

This is one of those small moments that makes a big difference—keeping her out of the shelter while she gets back to feeling her best.

Wishing this handsome guy a very Happy Birthday! 🎉🐾

We’re so glad Max convinced his mom to celebrate with a birthday session at the DesiLu Cottage. We had such a great time photographing the two of them that when we learned about Max’s serious Lamb Chop obsession, we knew we needed a round two for some extra-special birthday portraits. 🐑 ❤️

The DesiLu Cottage is our favorite places for summer sessions. With an acre of outdoor space to explore and an air-conditioned studio for creating studio portraits (or for cooling off ), it’s the perfect spot to beat the heat while making memories with your favorite furry friend.

Happy Birthday, Max! We hope it’s filled with Lamb Chops, treats, and all the attention you deserve. 🎂🐶

We had such a great time at the Oak Ridge Parks Canine Capers Event earlier this month! 🐾☀️
Our Camping Canines Pup-Paw-Razzi Pop-Up Booth was busy photographing lots of adorable pups (and a few rescue stars ✨) while Dave was out covering all the fun happening around the event!
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, posed for photos, or said hello. We loved seeing all the happy tails, wagging campers, and adventurous pups. 🧡🏕️🐶

🐾 National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day 🐾
This is Bootsie… and she’s our why. 💛
Back in 2011, we went to looking for a small dog to add to our crew of Desi & Lucy.

The small dogs were in the back at the time, so they showed us Bootsie’s intake photo.

She was 8 years old, mostly blind, and that photo showed a scared, ungroomed little dog who had clearly been through a lot.

We asked to meet her…
and this is the dog they brought out.

An adorable, fluffy pup FULL of personality — who didn’t let her age or her lack of vision slow her down one bit.

This is the photo we took the day we brought her home.

Not long after, we had the opportunity to start photographing shelter pets… and it stuck with us. It just felt like something small we could do to help them get seen.

Shelters are at max capacity right now. They need help.

Our favorite flower field is opening soon… and we are READY.

Poppies, dreamy grassy fields, golden light… it’s one of our favorite places to photograph all the things we love most — pets and the people who love them.
