J.P. Lord Photography is a Raleigh-based photographer specializing in candid portraits & weddings My goal as a photographer is to capture life beautifully.

I am located in the Raleigh area but offer photography services everywhere! I am a busy mother of two who thrives in hectic situations, and considers coffee to be my spirit animal. I am a dedicated canon user, t-shirt wearer, and hair color changer. I am completely in love with the art of photography and capturing real moments and true emotion is what drives me.

5 weddings in 3 weeks is a lot. But then again, it IS October, and if you’re a wedding photographer, you know exactly what that means. 😂

And let’s not forget the 16 family sessions I’ve somehow managed to squeeze into that same time frame. So, if I’ve been a little MIA lately, now you know why. I’m somewhere between shooting, editing, delivering galleries, and trying to remember what day it is. 🫠

But I have SO much goodness to share, so let’s start with wedding 1 of 5: Kat & Patrick. 🤍

From the quiet, intimate moments of getting ready to the absolute chaos of a dance floor full of their favorite people, this wedding was everything I love about what I do.

The timeless details, the gorgeous setting, the happy tears, the movement, the laughter, and a whole lot of love. Every part of their day felt effortlessly romantic, with just the right amount of wild.

These are the moments I live for. The perfectly imperfect, the in-between, the ones you can almost hear when you look back at them.

October, you’re exhausting, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🖤

One of my favorite things about this session is what isn't happening.
There are very few big laughs.
Very few dramatic embraces.
Instead, there's quiet connection.
Shared space.
Comfortable silence.
The way two people naturally exist together after they've built a life side by side.
Sometimes the strongest connection isn't found in eye contact. It's found in simply choosing to stand together.

I will never get over these sweet newborn sessions. 🤍 There is just something about those first few weeks at home, soaking in all the tiny details and the brand newness of it all. Baby snuggles, sleepy little faces, and two parents completely obsessed with their newest little love. 🥹🤎
