These last few weeks have been HEAVY.. like from the pit in my stomach, down to my bones, HEAVY. There have been so big ol’ speed bumps in this season of nothing but forward motion. There have been a lot of tears, fears and tons of anxiety. And there has been more doubt than I would like to admit. BUT in the same damn breath.. there has still been sunshine, there has still been beauty, there has still been joy.
Yesterday, I traveled to the OBX for a photoshoot.. and little did I know, that was what my soul needed. I delegated responsibilities for an afternoon away, and I just went. I took my time, I visited where Bryan and I got married, I went and sat where I have incredible childhood memories, I said hello to the spot where I sprinkled my moms ashes and I was just able to be for a moment. In my happy place. Then I went, enjoyed the soft sand of Corolla, watched the wildlife, let the waves roll over my feet and soaked in the moment. That’s what I needed.
I drove home after my session, when the golden sun grazing my face and made it home in time to put my boy to bed.
It was a simple, beautiful day and exactly what my heart needed. Letting go of the weight we carry is important.. I don’t think we realize how heavy things can be until you feel it all at once.
Here’s to an incredible September- full of less stress, more happiness, less anxiety and more joy!

Karleigh Edwards rocked her session 💜 it’s not every day you see the sails up on 86th, but we got a rare opportunity to snap some vibrant colors! You gotta take those chances when they present themselves and I’m so glad we did! Happy and bright, just like Karleigh!
