This one felt a little different.

I went to high school with Xavier, so getting to photograph him marrying Emily years later was pretty surreal.

Their day in Tiffin was such a good reminder of what we care about most when we photograph weddings, making beautiful images without pulling people out of the experience to create them.

We want our couples to have space to actually live their wedding day. To be with their people. To feel the nerves before the ceremony, get caught up in conversations, disappear for a few quiet minutes together, and let the day unfold without constantly feeling like they’re being directed.

That doesn’t mean we just stand back and hope for the best.

We’ll step in when something needs direction, build time for intentional portraits, help keep things moving, and pay attention to all of the little things happening around them. Then, when the real moments start happening, we let them happen.

Xavier and Emily trusted us with that completely.

The result was a day that felt polished without feeling produced, and photographs that still feel like real life.

A few early favorites from a really good one.

Xavier & Emily. Thank you for having Colleen and me there. 🤍

Working with your spouse is so rewarding 🥰

08/25/2026

Worry less. Dream more.

I said this to Colleen a few weeks ago, and she told me she loved it. I don’t think either of us realized how much those words would come to mean for this season of our life.

This past year has been full in every sense.

We got married. We started building a life together. We’ve been learning what it means to be husband and wife, business partners, creative partners, teammates, and still just two people trying to build a life that actually feels like ours.

Through all of that, I’ve gotten to watch Colleen step more and more into Green Eye.

Not because I needed someone to “help with the business,” but because she has something of her own to bring to it.

She cares deeply about people. She notices the quieter moments. She brings a calmness into rooms that I don’t naturally bring, and she has a way of making people feel cared for without making a big deal about it.

I’ve watched that start to shape our work, and more than anything, I’m just really proud of her.

This gathering was my way of stopping time for a second and letting her see how many people are behind her.

Friends. Family. People from our creative community. People who have supported us personally and professionally and watched this season unfold up close.

And I’m so grateful for every friend who helped make it happen, the people who showed up early, picked up food, set tables, brought coffee, handled details, took photos and videos, kept secrets, wrote notes, hugged her, encouraged her, and simply came to be there.

You made the room feel like love.

And that’s what we want Green Eye to keep becoming too.

Not just a business that makes beautiful photographs, but one built around people, presence, care, and noticing what matters while it’s still happening.

This next chapter means more of Colleen in the business.

And I’m so excited about that.

For her. For us. And for every couple who gets to experience what we create together.

I love you, Colleen. I’m proud of you.

This is apparently how two photographers spend a Monday evening after wrapping up a shoot. 😂

We walked into the Apple Store to upgrade Colleen’s laptop and somehow walked out carrying half the store through the mall.

As funny as it was, this felt like one of those quiet, full-circle moments.

There was a time when investing in equipment like this would have felt completely out of reach. We built this business using what we had, learning as we went, and being trusted by people long before we had everything figured out.

Now, we get to keep investing in the tools that allow us to work alongside one another, create more intentionally and continue improving the experience we give our clients.

None of this is lost on us.

Every person who has trusted us with their story has played a part in the life and business we’re building together. You continue betting on us, and because of that, we get to keep betting on ourselves.

Thank you. Truly.

And yes, carrying these boxes through the mall was every bit as ridiculous as it looked. 😂

Small doesn’t have to mean less.

Every week, we talk with couples who feel some level of guilt or uncertainty around the wedding they’re planning. Maybe they don’t want the large guest list. Maybe they aren’t interested in following every tradition. Maybe the day they’re imagining looks completely different from the weddings they’ve attended before.

And sometimes, they just need someone to remind them that there is no single way a wedding day is supposed to look.

Dominique and Andrew are such a beautiful example of that.

We first met them about a week before their wedding. They had considered eloping, talked about possibly having a larger celebration next year, and ultimately decided that what felt right was gathering their closest people for an intimate ceremony this past weekend.

It may have only lasted a few hours, but nothing about it felt small.

There was anticipation. There were thoughtful details, meaningful vows, happy tears, family photographs, laughter, a flower girl who completely stole the show, and time for the two of them to simply be together and take in what had just happened.

They didn’t try to make the day into something it wasn’t. They honored the traditions that mattered to them, let go of the ones that didn’t, and created a celebration that felt honest to the life they’re building together.

That is always the goal.

Not planning the biggest wedding possible. Not checking every box because someone told you that you should. But creating a day that allows you to feel present, supported and deeply connected to the people you love.

A wedding can be fifty people or five hundred. It can last three hours or an entire weekend. It can happen in a historic chapel, a backyard, a courthouse or somewhere halfway across the world.

The size of the celebration will never determine the significance of it.

And this is only a small sneak peek into everything their day held.

Dominique and Andrew, thank you for trusting us to step into such an intimate chapter of your story. Your day was a reminder that when a wedding is planned with intention, even the smallest gathering can hold an incredible amount of meaning.

For a while, it really felt like we had gotten away with an outdoor ceremony.

Then, right as the Caroline was about to begin her vows, the sky completely opened up.

Within seconds, the couple, the wedding party, every guest, the vendors, our cameras, Colleen and I, everyone and everything, was soaked.

They held out for as long as they possibly could, laughing through the rain until it became very clear that the ceremony had to move inside.

And honestly, watching every vendor immediately shift into problem-solving mode was one of the coolest parts of the whole thing. People were helping guests inside, finding towels, drying off chairs, moving equipment, rebuilding the ceremony in the reception space, and doing everything they could to keep the day feeling fun instead of stressful.

We spent the rest of the wedding squishing around in our shoes and repeatedly asking each other if we should just give up and go barefoot 😂 But honestly, I wouldn’t have changed it.

The rain didn’t ruin their wedding day. It gave everyone who was there a moment they’ll probably never forget, and the way the couple, their guests, and the entire vendor team adapted made the rest of the day every bit as beautiful.

GUESS WHOSE WEDDING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER….?

Well actually quite a few. Hahaha.

But Jacob & Shae are officially one of them. 🤍

I genuinely cannot believe it’s already been almost a year since we wandered around downtown together for their engagement session.

Wind everywhere. Champagne sprayed across the rooftop. A dress fighting for its life half the session. And somehow in the middle of all of it, these two just felt calm together.

I still remember us all laughing after the champagne exploded way harder than any of us expected. 😂

Now somehow we’re already this close to the wedding day. Time is wild.

Congratulations, Erica.

Erica & her family hold a special place in our hearts, we’ve had the chance to create alongside them for years now.

This session was fun.

Erica popped two bottles of champagne… because she was convinced the first one wasn’t going to go as planned (honestly, fair). Hahah

Her tassel? Gone to the wind every other minute.
I think we picked it up off the ground at least 6 times thanks to the unforgiving Bowling Green wind. see, this is why I went to UT. Shhhh

And photographing on campus will never not be funny, you’re in the middle of a full-on grad shoot while people are just… studying 10 feet away like nothing’s happening.

But that’s what we love about sessions like this.

They’re not perfect. They’re not scripted.
They’re just real moments, unfolding as they are.

We also carved out a little time to capture what she’ll need for what’s next, (some professional headshots).

I know it’s easy to sometimes to forgo capturing special moments like this, but we think you should do it. Doesn’t have to be anything professional, maybe it’s just asking a friend to take some photos of you. 20 years from now you’re never going to regret it!

We are now booking summer 2026 sessions. Limited availability. Dm for more!

So we mighttttt be biased…

But we LOVE a winter wedding.

Congratulations Lola & Drew!

We loved working with these two — maybe because we shared a lot in common. Not just in their intentions for the day, but in how they live.

Big foodies, love being outside, easygoing, just here for a good time.

And they brought exactly that into their wedding day.

Intentional. Intimate. Fun. Without all the traditional pressure.

Our favorite part of the day was watching them celebrate with their people. The dance floor was vibing all night… and Lola & Drew even hopped on and DJ’d for a few songs.

So good.

Really excited for these two.

Bonus: Slide 8, a sneak peek into their reveal when we delivered the whole gallery back to them! And special thanks to .m.thompson for connecting us to Lola & Drew!

Not me hiding behind a tree to capture the moment two of my friends got engaged.

It was an honor to share this with Charlie & Olivia as he surprised her with the moment she’s always dreamed of, the ring she’s always dreamed of, from the person she’s always dreamed of.

Being there at the beginning of their relationship and now witnessing this is a reminder of how quickly life moves, but also how it all unfolds the way it’s meant to.

I’m so excited for these two… and selfishly excited to attend another friend’s wedding. Assuming they’ll have me, consider this my invite haha.

Love you guys.

PS: If you’re planning a proposal, reach out. We love helping couples plan this moment and walk through the logistics. We hopped on a call with Charlie and even scoped locations beforehand to make sure he felt fully supported the whole way through.
