When you visualize portraits you rarely think of the perfect and posed; you want the quiet moments, the loud moments, the subtle glances, and teasing smiles. You want the best of yourself and your loved ones, while portraying your relationship in an authentic and beautiful way.

One day, they’ll remember summers like this. ☀️💦

Not what everyone wore.
Not whether everyone looked at the camera.
Not whether the house was clean or the grass was green.

They’ll remember Dad getting soaked. Mom laughing while trying to keep the baby out of the line of fire. The freezing hose water. Bare feet. Belly laughs. And being little enough that a kiddie pool and a garden hose felt like the BEST DAY EVER.

And Mom? She gets to remember that she was there, too. Not behind the camera. Not watching from the sidelines. IN IT.

This is why I will choose the messy, playful, completely unfiltered version of your family every. single. time.

Shoutout to Ashley Newman | The Woodlands Family Photographer for letting me tag along for this one 🤍

ONE whole year of being this sweet. 🎀🎂

365 days of tiny toes, squishy cheeks, first giggles, sleepless nights, growing way too fast… and somehow, here we are celebrating ONE. 🥹

And Miss Morgan understood the assignment: pink balloons, the sweetest little dress, a tiny rocking chair with her name on it, and absolutely zero hesitation once the cake came out. 😂

Because turning one isn’t just a birthday.

It’s the end of the fastest, blurriest, most beautiful year - the year you went from holding a brand-new baby to chasing a tiny person with a whole personality of her own.

Happy FIRST birthday, Morgan
Stay little just a little longer. 🤍

There’s something extra sweet about the baby girl who comes after three boys. 🎀

She has no idea what she’s being born into yet - three big brothers ready to love her, protect her, annoy her, teach her all the things Mom probably wishes they wouldn’t… and make sure she never has a moment of peace. 😂

And somewhere in the middle of all that boy-mom chaos, there’s about to be a little more pink, a whole lot of bows, and one tiny girl who will have three built-in best friends for life.

Baby sister, you are already SO loved. 🤍

And can we talk about this maternity look?! Jeans + a bare belly will forever have my heart. Maternity photos don’t have to mean a fancy dress — sometimes simple, relaxed, and completely you tells the story best.

Meet Grant. 🤍

Grant is a true heart warrior.

He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and severe congenital heart defect where the left side of his heart is underdeveloped and unable to pump blood to the rest of his body.

I’ve had the incredible privilege of documenting so much of his story—from the joy and anticipation of his mama’s maternity session, to a very delayed Fresh 48 in the NICU, and now… his first birthday.

Watching this family navigate the unimaginable with so much strength, hope, and unwavering love has been an honor. Milestones like this aren’t just birthdays—they’re victories.

Happy first birthday, sweet Grant. Your story is one of resilience, courage, and the kind of love that changes people. It has been a privilege to witness even a small part of your journey. ❤️

No gender reveal.
No hints.
Just one incredible surprise.

After nine months of wondering, they finally met their beautiful baby girl. 🤍

Maybe the Sorting Hat already knows where she’ll belong… but for now, she’s exactly where she’s meant to be - in the arms of two parents who already love her more than words can say.

Welcome to the world, little one.

Everyone tells you the second baby changes everything.

What they don’t tell you is that motherhood doesn’t divide your heart - it stretches it.

One minute you’re growing a baby who hasn’t taken their first breath. The next, you’re holding the little one who made you a mom in the first place, wondering how they’re suddenly big enough to be someone’s big sister.

There’s guilt because you’re tired.
Joy because your family is growing.
Fear that you’re about to change everything they know.
And hope that somehow, love will make room for all of it.

It does.

Motherhood has never been about having enough time, enough energy, or enough patience. It’s about showing up anyway—with a kiss on the cheek, arms that somehow hold everyone, and a heart that keeps making room for one more.

That’s the part no one prepares you for…
The love was never meant to be divided.
It was always meant to multiply. 🤍

Motherhood isn’t measured by the photos where everyone is looking at the camera.

It’s measured by the tiny hand that still reaches for yours.
The laugh that can’t be contained.
The toddler who runs before you’re ready.
The sisters who bicker one minute and chase a kite together the next.

One day, they’ll outgrow being carried on dad’s shoulders.
They’ll stop asking you to hold their hand.
They’ll fly the kite on their own.

But for today… they still need you.

These are the moments worth remembering—not because they’re perfect, but because they’re already becoming memories.

The magic of motherhood was never in getting everyone to smile.
It was always in simply being there. 🤍

Nobody warns you that one day you’ll miss the hospital bracelet.

The one that felt scratchy.
The one they checked every time someone walked into the room.
The one you couldn’t wait to cut off because it meant you were finally going home.

Years from now, you won’t remember the number on it.

You’ll remember what it meant.

It was the first proof that your baby was finally here.

This is why Fresh 48 sessions matter.
Not because babies stay tiny…
but because the details disappear before you even realize you’re saying goodbye to them.

Nobody warns you that one day you’ll be wiping sweet potato off their face… and the next, it’ll be birthday cake.

The first year isn’t measured in months. It’s measured in firsts.
The first smile.
The first sleepless night.
The first steps.
The first birthday.

And somewhere between keeping tiny humans alive, washing bottles, folding impossibly small clothes, and wondering where the time went… your baby isn’t really a baby anymore.

This is why I love cake smashes.

Not because of the frosting (although let’s be honest… the frosting-covered jeans deserve their own moment 😂). But because they’re a celebration of everything this first year held; the messy, the exhausting, the beautiful, and the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that deserve to be remembered.

Here’s to sticky fingers, frosting-covered cheeks, and the little boy who officially graduated from “baby” to “one.” 🤍

Because one day… you’ll miss cleaning up this mess.

Nobody tells you that one day, you’ll look down and realize the baby who only fit in the crook of your arm… suddenly fills it.

The sleepless nights, the milk-stained shirts, the endless rocking—they feel never-ending while you’re living them. But one day, they’re just memories you wish you could hold one more time.

This is why I photograph motherhood the way I do. Not just the smiling at the camera moments, but the weight of your baby against your chest. The tiny fingers that instinctively wrap around yours. The little lips that won’t always be this pouty. The way they fit perfectly into the space only a mama can fill.

Because babies don’t keep… but photographs let you revisit the parts of motherhood your heart never wants to forget. 🤍
