If you visit this pond in Acadia National Park at the right time, the rising sun at your back highlights the colorful trees on the opposite shoreline. While the pond is still shaded, the reflections in the water from the highlighted trees blend with the lily pads and reeds for a magical look. Enjoy!

I recently had the opportunity to spend time in Kauai where we were treated with several gorgeous mornings as shown in this beach scene. One benefit of using long exposure techniques in photography is that it gives you time to slow down and enjoy the surrounding beauty, the gentle breeze, and the steady sets of waves.

Here is one of many views of Mt. Rainier from the trail. As I hiked the various trails at this National Park seeing this mountain at nearly every turn of the trail was a treat. Enjoy!

Here are two photographs of Old Faithful from my trip to Yellowstone National Park last fall. The black and white version is in infrared. I like the way it emphasized the textures in the water, and the way the spray contrasts with the dark sky. Enjoy!

Another arctic front is making it’s way south through the US and will get into our normally warmer south Texas area around mid-week so freezing temps in our forecast makes me think of my trip to the Faroe Islands last year. We were fortunate to arrive just as fresh snow fell across the islands. Enjoy!

Nothing original here but you have to admit it is a gorgeous view! One wonderful thing about photography is it provides an easy pathway to memories of past experiences and wonderful time spent outdoors with good friends.

I do like to have the occasional night out under the stars to photography the Milky Way. These Milky Way photos are blended with 30 stacked exposures of the Milky Way to remove noise, and foregrounds shot earlier. If you look closely you can see headlamps from campsites in the peaks of Mt. Rainier. Enjoy!

I do like to have the occasional night out under the stars to photography the Milky Way. The stars that you can see in these dark sky areas like Mt. Rainier National Park are truly awe inspiring. This Milky Way photo is a blended effort. There are 30 stacked exposures of the Milky Way to remove noise, and one foreground shot from a bit earlier in the evening that is blended in. If you look closely you can see headlamps from campsites in the peaks of Mt. Rainier. Enjoy!

Here are some different interpretations of Narada Falls from Mr. Rainier National Park. There is a lot of hidden beauty within the details of any waterfall. Enjoy!
