Watched the met gala last night and I’m feeling inspired to share a bit more about how I got here — before photography, there was the beginning of my very passionate career in the realm of fashion.
In high school, I applied for the opportunity to design a dress worn Teen VoguedelO'Neill Women's with + for the Generation Next fashion show in San Francisco—something entirely my own. The inspiration given to me was straight out of the 70’s. I really thought that this was the path I’d follow.
But that design eye and all that I learned never left—it just evolved.
I started documenting my friends more consistently as they stepped into modeling. Working with brands + clothing companies, and eventually took the leap into second shooting my first wedding… and everything clicked.
The intention, the event curation, the way people express themselves through what they wear, how they move, how they love—it feels so aligned + full circle.
So while candid and documentary moments will always be a part of how I shoot, I’ll also guide you into those more editorial, iconic moments—because fashion is art, and so is photography. Promoting and posing plays a role into how I communicate with you as the subject.
And weddings… are where it all comes together. There’s so much more to the story, but I feel sharing this insight helps my clients understand that when working together, there is a thoughtful balance between the kismet and the curated. I’m supporting you every step of the way.
Please excuse the photo quality, they are high quality memories and it was 2012 after all.
