“What if my kids have a meltdown during our session?”

Then we’ll have photos of that too. And honestly? Some of my favorite images are from those moments.

The way you comfort them. The way your partner steps in to help. The way their sibling tries to make them laugh. The way they eventually calm down and lean into you.

That’s your family. That’s real life.

I’m not here to capture some fantasy version of your family where everyone’s always happy and cooperative. I’m here to document the truth. And the truth is that kids have big feelings and meltdowns happen and you handle it with so much grace.

And I’ve had a few sessions where a meltdown happened... Those parents come back to their gallery worried about what they’ll see. And then they’re stunned. Because mixed in with those raw moments are so many beautiful, tender, joyful images they didn’t even know I was capturing. The full story. And they love it all.

So please don’t stress about whether your kids will be “good” during your session. There’s no such thing as good or bad. There’s just who they are in that moment. And that’s exactly what I want to capture.
