This morning I stopped by one of the preschools I photograph to pick up photographs I’d mistakenly given to the wrong director. As I’m walking to the door, past all of the parents waiting with their little ones to go in (and it’s graduation day!!) I hear a little girl say to her mama as she tugs on her shirt “There’s Miss Amy!! She takes our pictures, mama look!” And another little girl followed suit and said the same to her mama. I hi-fived a few of the pre-k graduates as I was leaving and several of them grinned and waved at me.
I just want all of the parents of these amazing little kids to know how much I value the opportunity I have to spend with your children! Yes, there are challenging kids and cryers, but for the most part, I love every minute! They are witty, silly, a little bit of the best kind of crazy! Seeing them in the fall after a summer break, seeing how much they’ve grown and those kiddos that remember me and run to me to hug my legs when I drop off pictures and stuff to the schools, those kids truly make my day! Especially when I see them “out in the wild” at the grocery stores and I hear them whisper “mama look” and then they want to run over and say hello or get a hi-five or hug - know they are loved! The preschools I work with are incredible! Their directors and teachers are fabulous - I only stay involved with the ones that I truly enjoy working with. So keep it up mamas - keep raising those sweet babies to be so kind and caring! I adore them! 💗
