forgot whether they were blooming
or mourning.

Wind moved through her
like a memory returning —
soft enough to ache.

The branches reached for her
as if the earth itself
was trying to keep her.

And for one quiet moment,
she became part woman,
part ghost,
part spring.

A friend recently shared The Sunflower Theory with me and what it means when someone gives you a sunflower, and it felt really fitting for this shoot. 🌻

This shoot was a hard one for me emotionally.
I created it in memory of my mom, who passed away in August… trying to turn grief into something beautiful the only way I know how.

I asked Alexa to model for this because she’s always reminded me so much of my sister, and something about that just felt right for this story.

This set holds so much love, loss, softness, and healing for me.
