Shooting listings in Happy Valley for this long has officially ruined a few things for me.

I now expect golden hour to look like it does over our ridgelines, every lawn to reflect light like it’s auditioning for a magazine cover, and every porch to be the kind you’d actually want in a listing photo.

And yes — I now notice bad lighting everywhere I go. Restaurants, hotel lobbies, other people’s listing photos. It’s a problem.

A little proof that being a State College real estate photographer is less “golden hour goddess” and more “detective solving the mystery of why this room won’t photograph straight.”

My camera roll breaks down roughly like this: 40% empty rooms mid-shoot, 30% screenshots of addresses I will absolutely mix up if I don’t save them, 20% increasingly unhinged notes to myself (“ask about moving the recycling bins,” “the lamp is fighting me and I’m losing”), and 10% coffee — because none of the above happens without it.

It is not glamorous. It is, however, a remarkably accurate documentary of what goes into every gallery you see on my page.

Six stone fireplaces. One 1790s farmhouse. You’re not going to see another property like this go to auction anytime soon.

This all-stone farmhouse has been standing since 1790 — 4 bedrooms, six original stone fireplaces, and a level 1.3-acre lot that gives it room to breathe.
I spent an afternoon photographing every inch of it, and picking a favorite fireplace was genuinely the hardest part of this shoot.
