Lifestyle family and newborn sessions are filling my cup lately. I absolutely love just catching the vibe of someone’s daily life. The love, the craziness, the silliness… it’s definitely becoming one of my favorite things to shoot right now.

I had to share these sweet little moments I had with the Ruprecht Family a few weeks ago. 💗 I’ve known them for a while, and also did big bro’s newborn session. I met through her amazing momma, , who I met many years ago. (She owns and saved my cracked heels! Go check her out and tell her I sent you. 👣🤩)

I’ve had the honor of photographing so many chapters of Kyle and Jackie’s story... and this one is pretty exciting!

Back in 2018, I photographed their engagement in Milwaukee, and their wedding in St. Louis. Since then, I’ve been there for some of their biggest moments, including their first official family photos with their sweet son.

And now? A brand new chapter.

Kyle and Jackie are the new owners of Caulks Hill Dental, a practice that’s been part of the St. Peters community for over 40 years. Kyle has been a dentist his entire career (and his dad was a dentist too!), while Jackie is behind the scenes making the marketing magic happen.

Their goal is to bring the family feel back to the practice. And honestly? They’ve got a head start. Many of their team members have been there for 20 to 30 years. Talk about family!

Here’s the thing... when a business changes hands, patients naturally wonder what’s going to change. Seeing the real faces behind the practice builds trust before anyone ever sits in the chair. So that’s exactly what we set out to capture. Warm, welcoming, and real. A practice that feels like family, because it’s run by one.

As a Saint Louis brand photographer, these are the moments I love most... when I get to grow alongside my clients. From their wedding day to their very own practice, watching this family grow has been such a gift.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard a woman say, “I’ll book my photos when I lose 10 pounds.”

And quite frankly? It breaks my heart.

Because those 10 pounds have kept so many incredible women out of the picture. Out of their marketing. Out of their family photos. Out of their own stories.

You don’t have to shrink to deserve to be seen. Not for your business. Not for anything.

This is something I’ll be talking about a lot more... in more ways than one. 💛

A lot of photographers say, “Just wear something you feel good in”... and then you’re standing in front of your closet at 11pm the night before. 🙄

Not on my watch.

Here’s the thing... Feeling good in your clothes is a HUGE part of feeling good in front of the camera. And your outfits should do more than look cute... they should tell people who you are and what you do. A jewelry designer and an accountant shouldn’t show up dressed the same, and neither should you and your competition.

Every person in this carousel came to me with a different closet, a different business, and a different body. And every one of them left their session knowing they looked like the best version of themselves because we worked together to get it right.

As a Saint Louis brand photographer, stylist, and total style ju**ie, this is one of my favorite parts of the process. It’s where my clients start to relax, and where the nerves start turning into excitement.

Sarah celebrated turning 45 the best way I can think of... by celebrating herself. ✨

When she shared these photos, she called them “a celebration of the imperfect person I am today.” I haven’t stopped thinking about that.

Because that’s exactly what a photoshoot can be when it’s done right.

Not a performance. Not something you wait to do “someday.” A celebration of who you are RIGHT NOW... and every version of you that got you here.

Here’s the thing. So many of us wait. Until life calms down. Until we feel “ready.” Until we look a certain way. But the version of you that exists today deserves to be seen, and remembered.

As a Saint Louis portrait and brand photographer, empowered sessions like this one are lighting something up in me. New chapters. Fresh starts. Milestones. The moments you’ll want to look back on and say, “That was me, and I was proud of her.”

And honestly? My heart keeps calling me to do more of this work... helping people see themselves, celebrate themselves, and step into who they really are. In a lot of different ways. Not just with a camera in my hand.
