“Are two photographers necessary for a traditional wedding?”

Absolutely.

Honestly, there is no scenario where we wouldn’t recommend having a second photographer. There’s simply too much happening on a wedding day, and you deserve to have it all documented.

Lucky for us, we just happen to have a built-in, permanent second shooter. Jokes on us for being a husband-and-wife team! 🤣

Bonus? We also do video. This is not an add-on--we truly believe video is just as important as photo.

Sometimes, a backyard wedding is exactly what a bride has always envisioned.

While we specialize in luxury weddings and destination elopements, this bride chose something far more meaningful than a fancy venue or elaborate setting. She chose her grandpa’s backyard, the very place where she grew up as a little girl.

It was intimate, quaint, and deeply personal. And it was absolutely perfect.

Because luxury isn’t always found in the grandest venue or the most elaborate details. Sometimes, it’s found in a place that already holds a lifetime of memories and getting to create one more there. 🤍

We went to Yosemite for a photography workshop. We did not expect to photograph a real proposal, impromptu! 🤍

While watching the sunset at Taft Point, we struck up a conversation with a couple who had traveled all the way from Australia. We chatted about Yosemite, travel, weddings, photography… and before we said goodbye, we told them that if they ever needed wedding photographers in Australia, we travel and would happily make the trip. 🇦🇺

A few minutes later, Lachlan came back over to Jacob.

He said he had a ring hidden in his bag and he wanted to ask us to photograph the proposal.

So there we were, at Taft Point in Yosemite National Park, suddenly hiding out and waiting for the moment to happen.

He got down on one knee and proposed, she said yes, and Yosemite gave them one of the most incredible sunsets we’ve ever seen. ✨

We photographed and videographed the proposal, their reactions, the ring, the celebration, and then spent the last bit of golden light taking portraits of these two newly engaged travelers overlooking Yosemite Valley.

What started as a completely random conversation at sunset turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of our entire trip.

Lachlan & Tamsyn, thank you for trusting two complete strangers with such a special moment. We’re still smiling about this one. 🥹

Tyler + Kate were high school sweethearts, and watching them finally say “I do” was pretty special.

From their quiet morning coffee together in pajamas to the vows they shared privately before the ceremony, their day was full of the kind of moments we love documenting most.

Always love hanging with this family. ❤️ It's still wild to think we've photographed Katie's senior photos, then their engagement, their wedding, their newborn session... and now full-blown family adventures.

A visit to their website reveals a history dating back to 1812, and the fact that such beauty has been preserved for more than two centuries is a testament to the care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail poured into this remarkable place.

We absolutely loved capturing memories here and can't wait for the opportunity to shoot at this stunning venue again. ❤️
