This is Reggie.
Reggie Guyton is an actor, director, storyteller, mentor, community leader, and someone who genuinely cares about the people around him. He’s spent nearly two decades in theater, helping bring stories to life both on stage and behind the scenes.
He’s directed productions, performed in countless shows, served on the board of the Springfield Theatre Centre, and has worked to make theater more welcoming and representative of the community it serves.
He’s also a performer at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and was the first Black actor to perform the solo “Ghosts of the Library” role.
When he talks about theater, he doesn’t talk about applause or recognition. He talks about healing, purpose, understanding, and the power of stories to bring people together.
And if you’ve spent any time around him, you know that’s not just something he says. It’s how he lives.
Recently, he stepped into public service as a member of the Sangamon County Board, continuing his commitment to the community beyond the stage.
But titles only tell part of the story.
To me, Reggie is someone who leads with kindness, makes people feel welcome, and leaves every room a little better than he found it.
