I have something important I want to share about how I will be handling images of children moving forward.
For the past several months, I have already been moving toward a change in how I share images of children on my photography page. After recent developments surrounding AI and the growing concerns around the ways innocent images of children can be manipulated, I have made the decision to take this one step further.
Going forward, I will no longer be posting identifiable images of children on my photography page.
This is not a decision I have made lightly, and it is not something I decided overnight. I have been thinking about the safety and privacy of the children I photograph for months, and recent events have only reinforced this choice.
As photographers, we are entrusted with incredibly personal moments and images. Once an image is shared publicly, we cannot control where it goes, who saves it, or what technology may eventually be capable of doing with it.
I would rather be overly cautious than look back and wish I had done more.
Will this affect my business?
Maybe.
But I don't care.
No inquiry, booking, engagement number or image is more important to me than the safety and privacy of the families who trust me with their memories.
I want to be the kind of business owner who chooses what feels right over what is necessarily easiest or most beneficial for business.
My clients trust me with their most meaningful moments, and protecting that trust will always be a priority 🤍
