Yesterday I watched a YouTube video that showed off a mobile app that can connect directly to your Fuji camera and upload recipes to it, without having to enter them all in through the camera's menu system (which admittedly is kind of a pain). But then someone commented that third-party apps that connect to your camera through the Fuji SDK will void your camera's warranty. Also, the app being highlighted had a library of recipes that looked like they were scraped from other sources, likely without credit. So after briefly installing the app, I immediately deleted it from my phone before ever using it to connect to my cameras. And I'm glad I didn't connect, because as Ritchie says in this article, every third-party app connection leaves a marker on the camera that Fuji can detect. And while my X100V is well out of warranty, I don't want to support a developer who doesn't respect the work of others. Anyway, if you're a Fuji shooter read this article and be forewarned.
P.S. The Fuji X RAW Studio app can also send recipes directly to your camera, so feel free to use that. There's just no mobile version of that available.
