www.californiacenterforphotography.com - Professional-level photography training located in Orange County California. View our website for upcoming courses!

We welcome both the beginner and advanced photographer for in-person and on-location workshops. The California Center for Photography (previously known as the California Center for Digital Art) is more than a collection of useful equipment, studios, classrooms, and top-flight teachers. We are a student resource for beginners, and a source of inspiration for advanced image/video creators developing new, or expanding, visual voices. We are a place where students learn to think in visual terms; we ground ourselves in the fundamentals, and revel in those wonderful ‘ah-ha!’ moments when a student grasps concepts that turn into incredible images.

Anything better than a Sunset in Joshua Tree National Park?

In addition to the stunning views, we’re going to be expanding our camera skills:

🌅 Sunset Dynamic Range: Balancing the bright amber sky with the shadows of iconic Joshua Trees using spot metering and exposure bracketing.
🌕 Moonlit Landscapes: Mastering long exposures under natural moonlight so your shadows stay rich and your desert foreground stays tack-sharp.
📐 Foreground Composition: Using massive boulder formations and desert flora to frame the horizon and build massive depth.
💡 In-Field Troubleshooting: Dialing in focus in near-total darkness without your lens hunting endlessly.

Just hands-on, 1-on-1 instruction under the desert sky with a crew of creators who love photography as much as you!

This workshop is designed for a small group… so reserve your spot today! Link in bio.
