it’s the season.. 💍

jumping fish & beautiful sunsets couldn’t get Kaitlyn’s I keep her eyes off the love of her life. As I hid behind cars waiting for the moment — a biker came out and saw what was going on and I asked her if she could take my phone and ask them if she could take a picture of them with the sunset. She was so excited to be apart of this moment. This gave Ryan the perfect way to get down on one knee and ask for Kaitlyn’s hand in marriage. As tears filled the eyes of everyone around — the sunset wasn’t the most beautiful thing happening on the beach. Their joy filled the entire beach I swear. Kaitlyns smile could not leave her face. These two were both mind blown as this was super last minute and such a grand surprise. We ended our night running around the beach, me getting the wiggles because they are truly so freaking cute, a lot of love and laughter.

this was the third proposal I had in a 2.5 hour period! It was such an amazing night filled with so much love between my couple on Coronado, a stranger running after me to capture another quick surprise proposal and then this beautiful couple down in mission bay. I wouldn’t want it any other way❤️

here’s to proposal season & all the love & new chapters started!

with every swipe I want you to take in the day. the frames frozen forever to be cherished. the laughter echoing. the breathes taken as they stand in front of one another & pledge their lives to eachother. friends & family all around with tears welled up in there eyes. the sweet look in her eyes & the smitten smile on his face. the slightest touch that reminds you of home. the watch frozen with the time you said I do. the jokes that shall come from the moments where nervousness crept in but looking at one another you found peace & everything become quiet.

take the moment. lean into what is in front of you. from the outside looking in, witnessing so many love stories — they all stick with you. whether it’s a giant wedding or an intimate elopement. all so beautiful, divine & uniquely there own. no two stories are the same. C&Vs story is a love story of tenderness, love & unspoken words that they only know. with glances given, light touches, laughter & quirkiness. so move slowly & feel as they did during one of the most magical days in their lives. As friends and family wrapped arms around them, shared giggles, got in on the fun but importantly witnessed a beautiful matrimony. what an honor.

the grandest surprise is one not suspected, where true emotion comes through at the shock of something new❤️

months of planning, scheming for this one moment.
many phone calls, infoing family & friends, crating the perfect plan. just so he could see her face light as & they could experience such a surreal moment in life.

Alex reached out to me three months before proposing and we sat on the phone many of times, planning & prepping for this moment. Really fine tuning the details so Izzy would not know what was coming. We had the perfect set up, place where family could hide and see & the perfect spot that will now be forever special to these two. Asking someone to be yours for the rest of your lives is one grand question, we all know this. Many think it’s just for her when it is truly for both of you. It’s a moment and a day filled with so many emotions. Anxiety, happiness, nerves, uncertainties, love, questions, care and pure joy. I got to witness Alex profess his love for Izzy who thought she was watching a movie on the Bach and when she saw the proposal, had no clue it was for her. As her best friend cried behind her, her family and friends waiting away, Alexa friends coming hours early to prep for this moment. He got down on one knee, professed his love & Izzy said yes and went through a rollercoatser of emotions & then she saw them. Her entire family ran across the beach to congratulate her & there was soon to be another surprise. Alex flew out some of her closest friends to witness this moment. Not only did Izzy say yes but everyone she loved and cared for got to be apart of it. They all had a hand in this moment. One neither one of them will forget. With a lot of tears & many laughs these two got some time with me where they allowed themselves to be weird, have fun & sink into the fact that now they are fiancés. The ring is stunning, Izzy is stunning and their love is unmatched. Many years together and many more to go. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple. I can not wait to follow you through this chapter 💍

it’s one thing to start a family but to continue to build it is another. To watch as your last moments with your first slip away & to watch your slip becomes a sibling — it’s a beautiful journey and transition. To fall in love as they grow, to see your partner become a parent again & to life just feeling so complete.

Life is magical. I met Marc & Sav as a couple and they quickly became friends and family to me. I have seen them through many moons — as partners, friends, through the birth of their first child & now becoming parents again to their second. To grow and build moments and memories that will last a lifetime. This is my why. To meet on the beach, catch the waves, watch them as parents and see how much their daughter has grown as Sav’s getting ready to become a mama again. There’s something about it that’s breathtaking. To be entrusted not once, not twice but through many years and moments to be captured, cherished and passed down❤️ some of the last moments as a family of three before soon becoming a family of four. We will never forget the waves, the beautiful sunset, the squeals of sheer excitement & getting soaked within the first 5 seconds of being on this beautiful beach. We’ll never forget the perfect beauty of her belly, the last moments of just mommy and daughter & the fun giggles that came along with it all. Life leaves us with a lot of beauty and joy — things end and new chapters begin🩵

it’s one thing to just do birthday photos, it’s another thing to become an entire art gallery. this wasn’t just a celebratory photoshoot. this was ground breaking. chain shattering. fully immersive. transformative. free spirited. emotive. connective to oneself, purpose & soul. not just for her but also for me.

Kelly & I met and just meshed straight into our first moment. filled with hugs & giggles then a check in while t swift was playin in the background. As our time continued Kelly really opened up to me why she was doing this and how much this meant to her. it’s just not another year, it’s not just welcoming another decade. it’s free falling for her. it’s sharing who she truly is & the pride that comes with that. I’m truly trying to not cry because we learned from one another during our time together. We made art, we fell down hills, we laughed, we trusted & we grew something together that we only will share.

to my darling Kelly — a birthday wish for you, as I have shared so much with you already. As you walk into this decade of yours, never forget the talks we had; the laughs we shared and the parts that stuck in your soul. I hope this decade transforms you as much as our time together did. I wish that this year brings you so much happiness, courage, love & free spirited the way you ran through the fields, climbed the bridge and really let yourself go. abandon fair grounds & blow flowers 🎡🎟️

there’s always a reason to explore when the grounds give those spooky vibes. could you imagine a beach beach and boardwalk is right next to these open fairgrounds filled with rides that you know haven’t been used. We walk through the rides and you can feel the laughter filled with eerie silence and the squawking of geese.

the San Diego fair is fun but it’s not better than an entire fairground to yourself. The vibes were inspired from their favorite movie and we delivered! From riding the rides, laughter, bubble gum pops, laying in the grass and enjoying the blow flowers and being with one another. Not everyone can say they took their lover to an abandon fairground & rode the rides. It’s straight out of a movie I swear. Then the geese came and we almost got chased by some angry geese. when in doubt go explore, do the weird things & possibly get chased out of the fair grounds by some angry geese. I wouldn’t change a thing - these two are such a vibe; always down to do such an alternative creative vibe. As long as they are connecting with one another they don’t care what they are doing🤘🏻

the sweetness of life 💛

I think some of the best seasons in life are the ones least expected. if we really think about it life in itself is one season where we weather storms and bask in the sunshine. I get to experience many seasons, not just my own, but with those who share them with me. Those who say hey I want family heirlooms for a lifetime from you. the sweetness of life💛

walking around in beautiful Maine with a family I’ve known since the beginning of my journey in photography. I photographed C & R when their second was in her tummy. Now here they are welcoming a fourth little bundle of joy into their lives. To see their children grow, them grow as parents and just be is beautiful. Walking through these trails, taking moments to love on mama as well as explore. There’s no better thing in life than the love you have for yourself and your family. As baby #4 is soon to arrive I reflect back on all the memories I have, not just with this family, with all the families & couples I’ve had the privilege to photograph. We grow together, I am welcomed into different seasons of life. Many ask my why.. why do you continue to photograph? Why do you travel so much? What drives you within your photography? Well my answer to you.. it’s them. It’s being invited into their world, to watch this season of life.. the next chapter. It brings me joy and so much serenity and peace in my heart. To be able to hold moments that turn into memories that will be passed down for generations to come. That is my why. They are my why.

Seasons in life change, the storms will come.. the sun will always be there. Bask in it. Take in the moments where you doubt yourself and question your life. Let the unexpected happen and the surprises bring joy. Let the things end and find peace with them. Find serenity and peace within your heart and soul. That’s the season of life💛

the stars & moon were the writers in our story that brought me to you❤️

Now if you haven’t seen my previous video on part of the day, please go and watch. For now let me bring you into the day. Mary had no clue I was there as I posted a story to get her off the trail she was sniffing out. I truly believe that being asked for your hand in marriage is one of the best surprises in the world. So I wanted Mary to not know anything… so I lied (it was for the plot). I posted a story that I was out of the state. When truly Alex and I had been chatting to make sure everything went smoothly. I woke up at 3am, drove two hours, took an hour ferry ride, walked around Catalina island before it woke up, grabbed a coffee, walked up a giant hill, scouted, fell down the hill and then waited for them to come. I was perfectly hidden and shaking in my boots. To be asked to photograph a proposal is one thing but to be asked to be there as a friend & Alex couldnt imagine anyone else being there for this once in a lifetime moment.. what an honor🥹 I sat on this hill waiting for them to come, filled with so much excitement. They got there and Alex showed her a beautiful view and dropped down on one knee, Mary was filled with happiness, laughter, shock and tears. Little did she know I was there. All she saw was a camera, I moved the camera and a second wave of shock came and instantly she said you lied to me and gave me the biggest hug. This truly felt like a movie moment. We all stood there filled with joy, happiness, shock and so much love. let’s not forget the RING💍 we couldn’t stop staring at it. These two souls were destined to be with one another in this lifetime and for all to come. You feel it when you’re in there presence. I sit here and still can’t believe it happened. For them it was a movie and for me to watch two people I adore pledge there love for one another and commit to a lifetime together — it’s a different type of movie. It’s the moment where you feel like you’re watching it in a movie theatre when in reality I am the one capturing it to be cherished for a lifetime. I’ll never forget it. Everytime I look at the photographs above I will forever well up with tears.
