What flashed through my mind when I heard "it's a girl".

I could picture all the ribbons, bows, & tutus, but being a Mother to this sweet baby girl has far exceeded anything I could have ever dreamed up. She's simply & indescribably the best.

Happy 1st to my 1st. Thank you Hollis, for making me a Mother, being my muse, and letting me endlessly photograph you. 🥹

The latin word "photo" literally means "light". So how could I not take a million photos of her, when she is a little ball of pure light?

I've never made two grids for one session before, but I wanted to show the range we can get in a single location. One grid highlights the fun unique backdrop we had- and the other has a more neutral interpretation with a much shallower depth of field (that pretty blur). I enjoy the challenge of both highlighting and concealing backdrops- this location was the perfect place for that! I loved creating this library photoshoot for these bibliophiles.

Many parents prefer to keep their kids' identity private on social media until they are adults and can choose for themselves to be online or not. Which, I 100% understand and completely respect.

If this is you, be sure to let me know if you'd like to have some faceless portrait options. There's a lot of super sweet poses that don't require an emoji over their faces.😆Definitely let me know as well if you'd like me to just not share your photos online- that's totally okay, too!💛

Also, this baby...this whole family...the kids the parents the dog the house...So sweet! 🥹Their home was filled with the most specialized and thoughtful projects. I wanted to "pin" everything in their house to a "Dream Home" Pinterest board.

During a photoshoot, I always welcome input from everyone-even the youngest members-regarding poses, backdrops, etc. I’ve learned you never know what keen eye people will bring to the session. The portrait of the little boy in the bottom right was his exact location choice and even his pose idea. I’m so glad I listened and followed his plan! He looks happy about it, too!

Last year's Halloween self-portrait I was making a potion and holding a book titled "Brewing a Baby". This year's is the sequel!

With a six month old this time around, it was more difficult to get my photoshop project done...so I am proud of myself for prioritizing something I am passionate about! It's important to keep the imagination from your inner child alive... that's why I included my favorite childhood stuffed animal in the photoshoot. Her name is Kitty. 🤍

As we can all tell, Utah's Autumn has been very generous this year with it's ✨vibrancy✨ Holy color! I actually had to reduce some of it in post production...felt like a crime.😳
