And so much more. I’m a mother to three busy kids and a wife to my high school sweetheart. I’m a big city girl (born in Seattle) and have lived in each of the three states along the west coast. We made the move from the Bay Area to Utah after our first son was born and haven’t looked back, the Salt Lake Valley suits our family well. We’re a football family through and through and the three kids ar

e swimmers, footballers, basketballers and water polo kids…we do love our sports. And we’re all tall in the Owens family, it’s only a matter of time before I’m the shortest at 5’10”. a little about what I love | I’m a lover of all things visual and creative. I’m always looking at my surroundings and observing and taking things in. I have a degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Oregon (no, I’m not a Duck fan…OSU Beavers all the way) and I have a great love of Scandinavian design and Mid Century Modern furniture. Typography makes me happy and Pinterest might just be the best thing ever invented. I can be bribed with a Coke from McDonald’s (something about the straw or the carbonation…some of you out there know exactly what I’m talking about), fried pickles or Good n’ Plenty’s. I could spend hours in a stationary store and I once had a mild addiction to pens. a little about my vision | Photography is so deeply important to me. I am an emotional girl and photography lets me showcase that. As a mother of three teens, focusing on that age group has become very important to me. Allowing teens to see just how amazing they are is my goal and I try to ensure that I accomplish that in every interaction. Seeing the love between parents and their teen (even if it’s their fifth child) gets me, seeing their pride in the person that they are raising and seeing that in an image makes my heart sing. As parents we are so excited to document every little moment of our children when they are young and my goal is to continue that documentation as they get older. Don’t forget – your children are still reaching amazing milestones, we must make an effort to capture those too!

Easing into January with a business and website audit. What stays? What goes? What new services are on the horizon? As I transition into this new season of my business it’s time to make a few updates to my website and social media platforms. Business owners…is this something you’re doing? As your business evolves and matures it’s important to make sure your website and other online channels are in line with your mission and services. Images, copy, dates and links should be updated and verified. Let’s do this.

Opening new doors and finding new experiences…now that the kids have all started on their own big adventures I get to refocus and dig deeper into some of the things that I love. Telling stories through photography will always be my first love but helping small businesses solidify their vision through clear branding strategies and systems makes my heart full. And combining that with beautiful imagery…it’s the very best ❤️

Day one of two for this year’s preschool photos are in the books. It’s the one time every year I take photos of little ones and I have to admit, it’s pretty fun. They’re all so sweet…but the quiet ones? The ones who are slow to open up? They’ve got a special place in my heart ♥️ those smiles are so sweet. I also got the full rundown on what three and four year olds are going to be for Halloween this year in case anyone needs costume ideas 🎃👻💀

Oh, hey :) it’s me. A couple months ago I participated in an *amazing* workshop (LAB from ) and it was my first real deep dive into the world of working with brands through photography. And I loved it. In the past I’d done photography for a couple of small businesses but this workshop was really eye opening for me. I’m so excited to continue to build out the brand photography side of my business along with my seniors. And if you’re a small business looking for brand strategy, development and support I might just have something coming your way soon :)

September strategy planning…after taking the summer off to enjoy the last kiddo at home before he went off to college (big tears for mama) I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Here’s to fall sessions for seniors and getting to work on some exciting upcoming projects. Content planning is one of my favorite things to do and I love watching it all come together.

Hello April ☔️ I spent this week out of the office…taking some time off to be with my big kid as he recovers from a pretty big knee surgery earlier this week. Being a mom is my most favorite thing in the world, but oh, those struggles our kids go through can be so hard. Go love on your family ❤️

Planning for the week and I need all the coffee I can get…this time change is no fun. I’m enjoying planning with my iPad lately vs a paper planner. I love that I can easily move stuff around, I love that all my lists and ideas are in one spot. And I love that mistakes are easily erased. I’ve never enjoyed digital planning until I started using my apple pencil and my planner from with the .app

Tomorrow is another shoot at the studio so today I’m gathering up ideas and inspiration to make sure we get the images we need. Going into a branding session like this it’s always good to have a shot list and prop list so you don’t forget anything. I’m so excited to see what we create!
