This photo of the historic Blum Barn near Manchester, MI was taken exactly one year ago today. Sadly, this beautiful piece of local history was lost to a fire in early January of this year.

I'm grateful to have captured images like this over the years, preserving a small part of its story and character. While the barn may be gone, photographs like these help keep its memory alive and remind us of the important landmarks that have shaped our local landscape.

It's a bittersweet reminder of how quickly things can change, and why documenting the places around us matters.

June has certainly been keeping us on our toes here in Michigan! One day it's hot and humid, the next we're reaching for a sweatshirt. We've had sunshine, thunderstorms, cool mornings, and everything in between. While the weather may be unpredictable in June, it does create some incredible opportunities for photography.

Wow, it’s hard to believe that May is already coming to an end. Feels like it just started! Hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. We managed to get one good day of weather out of it at least… the rest definitely felt more like Michigan doing Michigan things. 😄

This is definitely not a sponsored post, but over the past few years I’ve had the privilege of attending and photographing several events at Revel Run near Dexter, and along the way I’ve captured quite a few great photos (day and night) of this beautiful property.

I’ve also stopped by the Foxhole Bar at Revel Run a handful of times, and if you’ve never been, it’s a totally different experience from the standard bar scene. The open-air setup overlooks the scenic property, and there are usually yard games, live music, or other fun activities going on. Add in great drinks and friendly service, and it’s just an awesome place to relax for a while.

If you’re looking to try somewhere new and unique to unwind and have a couple drinks, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. You might even see a horse or two roaming around.

A few days ago I shared some of the leftover winter photos I captured earlier this year. Today, it’s time for the leftovers from the early spring rainy season here in Southeast Michigan.

Gray skies, wet roads, and plenty of puddles made for some beautiful moody scenes. Hope everyone manages to stay dry out there today!
