📸✨ A New Step in Booking with The Stunning Swan Photography ✨📸

As my photography business continues to grow, I’m excited to share a small but important update to the way I’ll be handling all future and ongoing bookings! 🤍

Going forward, every session will have a photography contract completed as part of the booking process.

Why?

Because I believe in protecting both you and me. ❤️

Your photographs are important. Your time is important. My time, creativity, equipment, and business are important too. A clear contract allows us to make sure that we both understand exactly what we’re agreeing to before your session takes place.

Your contract will clearly outline things such as:

✨ Your session details and investment
✨ Deposits and payment expectations
✨ What is included with your session
✨ Image delivery and usage
✨ Cancellation/rescheduling policies
✨ Photographer and client responsibilities
✨ Copyright and personal-use information
✨ And other important details that help make your experience smooth and stress-free

🤍 And there’s something new I’m especially excited about…

YOU get a choice when it comes to your photographs.

Every contract will include a Photo Promotional Use & Privacy section where you can choose between:

📸 Standard Promotional Release — Included
You give me permission to select and share images from your session for my portfolio, website, social media, advertising, promotional materials, educational purposes, and photography competitions.

🔒 Private Session / Portfolio Exclusion
If you prefer that your images remain private and not be used for promotional purposes, you’ll have the option to choose privacy when booking. A small privacy fee will apply because promotional imagery is an important part of how I market and grow my photography business.

Neither option changes who owns the copyright to the photographs. Your choice simply tells me how you want your images handled for promotional purposes.

Most importantly, there is no pressure to choose one over the other. I want you to feel comfortable, respected, and informed about what happens with your photographs after your session. 🤍

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who trusts me to capture their memories. Whether I’m photographing your family, your growing babies, your milestones, your love story, or one of the biggest days of your life, I want you to know that I’m taking that responsibility seriously.

This update is just another way I’m working to make The Stunning Swan Photography more professional, transparent, and intentional while continuing to give every client the beautiful experience they deserve. 🦢✨

🍂 FALL COLORS ARE ALMOST HERE! 🍁📸

I don’t know about you, but I am SO ready for fall! 😍 There’s just something about golden trees, cozy sweaters, warm earthy tones, and that crisp autumn air that makes me want to grab my camera and get outside!

These photos were taken at Viento State Park in late November, and while the colors were absolutely beautiful, it was COLD! 🥶😂

So this year, I’m thinking we start a little earlier!

I’m looking toward mid-to-late October to begin booking my fall sessions so we can hopefully catch those gorgeous autumn colors while the weather is still a little more comfortable. 🍁🧡

Sunday reminder: Our families are a gift 💗

Sometimes we get so caught up in the everyday chaos— getting prepped for the school year, work, meals, laundry, appointments, and everything in between—that we forget to stop and recognize just how precious these people are.

Children grow. Seasons change. Life moves quickly.

That’s one of the reasons I believe photographs matter so much.

A photograph gives us the opportunity to pause a moment that we can never get back and preserve it for the years ahead.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” — Psalm 127:3

Today, I’m praying that we don’t get so busy living our lives that we forget to appreciate the people we’re living them with. ❤️

Some families leave a little piece of their story with you long after the session is over 🤎

This beautiful family’s session was one of those moments I will remember.

There is something incredibly special about photographing a family exactly as they are — surrounded by the people they love, connected to their heritage, laughing together, playing in the water, and simply enjoying one another.

My clients are Native American, members of the Anishinaabe people and the Red Lake Nation of Minnesota, and I am truly honored that they trusted me to preserve these moments for them.

As a photographer, I don’t believe I’m simply taking photographs.

I’m preserving the way these children looked at their parents.

The laughter between siblings.

The love between husband and wife.

The traditions and pieces of heritage that become part of a family’s story.

And the little moments that may feel ordinary today, but one day become priceless.

These are the photographs that generations can look back on and say,

“This is us.” ❤️
