So here’s your reminder:

FOCUS ON YOUR PERSON 🫶💍🤍📸

Put an actual reminder alarm on your phone set for your wedding day if you need to!

As a wedding photographer in Florida, here are some of my favorite ways to stay connected to your person all day long:

✨️Hold hands whenever you can — during portraits, walking between spaces, under the table at dinner, even when you’re mingling with guests at the reception.

✨️Do a first look of first touch if you’re worried about nerves! This is a perfect way to reconnect and co-regulate before the ceremony with all of your loved ones.

✨️Take 5 minutes alone right after the ceremony. No phones. No bridal party. Just breathe each other in. There’s no pressure to be anywhere or talk to anyone else! I will personally keep everyone away from you so you can soak this moment in.

✨️Whisper something only they can hear during the vows. I love the smiles I get in the ceremony pictures when couples do this!

✨️Start the day with a breakfast or coffee date together

✨️Sit next to each other while you eat. ACTUALLY eat. Actually talk. I will make it my business to make you a plate of food and make sure you eat it with your BRAND NEW husband!

✨️Find them in the crowd and lock eyes

✨️ End the night with a private slow dance while everyone is getting ready for the grand exit

Your wedding day is not a performance.

It is the beginning of your marriage.

Choose them over and over again all day long. 🤍✨

5 things that are not worth the money (that aren't photography related) wedding planning edition!

As a wedding photographer in Florida, here are 5 things that I have seen again and again at weddings that are just not worth the money! It's so hard to know as a bride in the thick of wedding planning what is a need and what won't be worth it in the long run. I've got you! 1. Wedding cakes (Publix tastes just as good and is so creative and accommodative with custom cake requests!)

2. Invitations (It's paper people will look at once, throw away, and STILL forget to rsvp!)

3. Veils (I promise no one can tell the difference between a $18 veil from Amazon and a $350 veil from David's Bridal!)

4. Wedding favors (They are cute, but everyone will forget them and then YOU end up with 200 packets of seeds with your wedding date on them)

5. Bachelorette party (I think your Bach party can be just as sweet and meaningful at an Airbnb in your city than in the Bahamas!)

We all know photos are an important piece of your wedding day you get to actually keep forever, but what about the other aspects of your day? As a full time wedding photographer in Florida, I know what is important and what can be let go of.

Here are 5 things that are worth the money!

1. Real florals for every bouquet (you can tell when the brides bouquet is different than the bridesmaids)
2. Hair (they know how to make it last all night!)
3. Makeup (same with the hair! Take the stress off of yourself to make it last all night)
4. Food (this is the part everyone remembers)
5. Coordinator (It is sooo worth the money to ensure your stress levels dont go through the roof!)

Ok but how am I supposed to choose between these two?

I've been playing around with light so much lately, and I've been having the BEST time with it. There's something so special about watching light interact with all of the little details of the Bride's wedding dress, especially an heirloom she chose SO intentionally for her special day!

I'm loving the challenge of finding new ways to photograph those details and let the light tell its own story instead of forcing the picture around it.

What everyone saw: a successful business with clients and a workflow that works for me

What they didn't see: that success actually means lots of lonely late nights, invisible work, and sometimes even starting over.

If I could go back and tell the version of me who was just starting out one thing, it would be this:

Don't be afraid of the invisible work! Keep going. not because it's guaranteed to work and you'll be an overnight success, but because the work no one else sees is what's building you into the person you want to be! (And yes, because your business WILL grow!)

If you're in a season where it feels like no one notices your effort, keep showing up!
