Behind the lens: a look into my life.

Growing up in the small town of Bangor, maine. I dabbled with photography as a chiles. Starting on my parents canon xsi around the age of 10. I would take pictures of my friend as a child and my dogs Sophia and Mozart. I definitely had an affinity towards it but never imagined it would go this far.

At the age of 16 I received my first camera, a canon rebel t4i. From there I was hooked. Starting off with horses, I began the page .thruthelens which had a total of 106k at its peak.

After my horse passed in 2017, I fell off the wagon with that page and it started to decline. But from there I began taking photos of other horses and humans.

I realized that wasn’t quite for me in 2020 and began shooting dogs specifically. I had found my niche. At this time I was living in Bradenton, Florida and loved having a client base there. But I had yet to come up with a website.

In 2021 I moved to bartow Florida and came up with the name dog photographer of tampa bay. From this point on I have continued to grow rapidly and book more shoots. I’ve been so blessed with many amazing clients and an ever growing social media presence.

My boyfriend and business partner and I push ourselves to be better every day, foreword if business and setting up our websites. It’s been difficult but so worth it and it will continue to be worth it in the coming years.

We’re taking on the world by storm and pushing to take over the area with our business.

Trying out a new way of posting pictures to see if I can get some more engagement! Super cool if you ask me😍

Don’t work till 1 today. Spending a lot of time editing the photos from the vet shoot. Narrowed it down a bit but everyone’s still gonna get 12-14 photos. We’ve decided just to give everyone everything we got, there’s too many to choose from! I’ll definitely be making some of these from that shoot! I took around 4,000 photographs that day. It was long but so worth it in every way. Stephanie (the owner and veterinarian) said she couldn’t wait for the next one and everyone had so much fun. We’re so thankful we got to be a part of this and give everyone the experience of a lifetime!

The past 2 days have been non-stop! Absolute insanity! But so worth it! We got a tip from the vet shoot for more than we make in 2 photo shoots. Stephanie was amazing to work for and said she couldn't wait for the next one! Were so happy with how it went. Safe to say we won't have to worry Monetarily for a while which is a big sign of relief after the past couple of months.

This was from my shoot Saturday. These pictures turned out amazing as well and she's going to be buying some prints which I'm really excited about! Things are going so good right now. We are so lucky.

Getting ready for the photoshoot today. The weather is pretty crappy and I’m concerned about getting rained out. But it’ll be okay! If anything I’ll just do a free reshoot. Whenever I shoot i have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. If I or you are not pleased with the photos, I will offer you a free reshoot, it’s the only fair thing to do!

I’ve been up prepping since like 3:30 this morning lol. All the gear is cleaned. I have a rain cover for my camera in case of emergencies. There’s a water bowl for the dog and p**p bags. Some squeakers, and business cards. I’m so excited! But sad I’m going without today. Tomorrow we have the years biggest shoot though! For harmony harbor vet care In tampa. Along with this shoot we’ll be selling some wall art which I have listed prices of in my story!

Today hopefully I’ll be able to upsell some wall art as well! The excitement is SO REAL!!!!

Rainy dayz☔️🌧🌂🥾

The weather is gross and dreary today which calls for a whole house clean. All I have left to do is sweep and swifter🥵

Made some chicken noodle soup, good for the soul. My belly is happy and I’m crawling back into (a just made) bed to read and work on business. It’s totally a lazy day. I like these days sometimes though. I know florida has needed the rain desperately. Crazy how in the summer it rains literally EVERY afternoon but in fall, winter, and spring rain is in short supply.

I have a checklist of things to do still for the photoshoots this weekend like cleaning my cameras, lenses and sensors but right now it’s okay to just rest. Everyone needs rest and it’s going to be a long weekend traveling back and forth to tampa! But SO exciting!!
