My film-only sessions are continually a beautiful lesson in presence. 🎞️

When there are only 36 images on a roll of film, you learn to make each one intentional. No checking the back of the camera to see if you “got the shot.” No taking hundreds of photos hoping to love one or two later.

Slowing down enough to trust the moment as it’s unfolding. Letting real connection be enough.

Walked outside this morn to see my peonies in full bloom & our little garden growing bit by bit. Feels like a little love letter from the summer season. 🌱

Sitting down this afternoon to curate my film mini galleries + it has me smiling ear to ear. The sweetest memories captured for future nostalgia. I love this job of mine and film has my heart.

Along those lines, here’s a little film detail photo from the most joyful backyard wedding day here in Minnesota. One that also felt like a love letter from summer. Olives & silver & joy all around. 🫒🎞️

I didn’t always know I wanted to be a photographer. I actually spent a great portion of my life pursuing an entirely different career.

I did however, always have a fascination with light. How it spilled into a room and created something new. I grew up wanting to keep memories anyway I could. Thousands of words jotted into journals, boxes of fossils + feathers + rocks, memories tucked in the back of my mind of our family laughing over a pot of coffee.

I was always noticing.

Picking up a camera felt like another way to do that. To turn my own and other’s memories into something tangible. Something that could be both an heirloom and a piece of art.

Photography keeps me endlessly curious about how we remember the lives we live— how color, texture, and light turn a fleeting second into something we keep reaching for.

Film scans that bring me right back to the moment.
Jake and I split this trip between France and Estonia—our own little “his and hers” adventure.

Ever since high school, I’ve had a deep appreciation for France. From the food, to the slower pace of life, the art, history, interiors, and fashion— it’s a place I’m constantly drawing inspiration from.

Estonia felt distinctly different in the best way. Colorful streets, well-preserved medieval architecture, Scandinavian influence, incredible food, restorative saunas, and freezing dips into the Baltic Sea.

A true dream to experience these uniquely beautiful places and create my own art through film photography along the way.

Made the decision to document the majority of our trip on film, and I am so thankful I did. These bring me right back to the memory.

These two get married here in Minnesota in 2027, so it was so special to take their engagement photos where they currently call home. A little ode to their love for + all their sweet Florida memories. 🫶🏻
