Five days. 4 states. One tour.
For the past week, I was given a very amazing opportunity by five of the coolest cats I've been able to work with throughout my career as a live music photographer. And now that I'm finally home, I can truly rest in the comfort of my own bed again and yet, I’ve been trying to find the right words to thank them for inviting me to accompanythem on their biggest tour to date. Somehow, even though it was a lot on all of us, I’m not sure words can fully capture my gratitude.
To my dear friends from Frost Found Us (Jay, Kody, Noah, Jacob, & Damon):
I want to truly thank you for entrusting me to be part of this new and exciting chapter in your musical adventure. I feel that by being able to contribute to your Code Red tour, through all of the good and the bad experiences alongside you was something I’ll never take for granted. Throughout the week, you all have given me memories I am very happy to have. Every little moment we all shared are just to fun and I’m very blessed to carry with me for a very long time.
Being your photographer gave me the opportunity to capture the moments that most people never get to see. Being able to preserve some of those memories through photographs is something that means a great deal to me, and I hope to does for you, too. And being a roadie gave me the chance to contribute in a completely different way; I am here to help by any way I can, even though we all were painfully exhausted, stressed, and sweaty. I found it very rewarding, knowing that I wasn’t just watching you give it all— it was just awesome to even be a part of what gabe you your drive.
You all trusted me with your music, your memories, your gear, time, and most importantly, your friendship. And honestly, that means more to me than I can really express. Please know that the past week wasn’t just days off of my mundane work schedule, they were six days I went at with purpose and commitment that I’ll look back on for years to come.
There were undoubtedly long days and tiring nights, but somehow even the exhaustion became part of what made everything special. There’s a unique kind of bond that comes from traveling and working together, collectively solving problems, and then standing back and realizing, we did it. But most of all, thank you for treating me like a friend.
You gave me the opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself, and I hope I gave back even a fraction of what you gave me simply by being there and doing everything I could. I hope we can all look back on these days and chuckle on the losses, and praise the wins. We've met some pretty awesomely talented people during this run, and I'm hoping that kind of bond stays. In my opinion, music is all about unity, and we were so lucky to meet these very interesting people from all over.
But I'm getting off topic here... From the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me be part of the Frost Found Us family, even if only for this while. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity to have been there to take your photos, being your roadie, and, most importantly, your friend. Here's to the future, whatever it may hold; godspeed, boys, and good luck!
With all my gratitude and appreciation, always!
