When my friends, Kimber of Waterbear Photography and Astrid (.wild.ethereal ) said they wanted to do a shoot-out in our local castle, I jumped all over it.
Did I ask myself, "Jennifer, should you really be doing this when you have a creative edit backlog eleventybillion miles long?" Yes. Yes, I did.
Did I still say eff it and throw sanity to the wind? Also yes.

With ocean views from the turrets and shafts of light beaming through windows, Castle Otttis in Vilano Beach delivered! It was the perfect locale for our medieval-inspired photoshoot. Four hours was not enough time and I can't wait to go back.

With all these dive videos and underwater photography, I bet you're wondering if I still do bo***ir.
And the answer is unequivocally.... YES!

Even though I've been chasing waterfalls... err, I mean springs, cenotes, and salt water, I'm still busy in the studio creating for my beautiful clients ❤

Hey Mermaids!

Who has two fins and is going to be at the Mermaid Summit this year?! That's right, seasters, ME, !! After missing out the last two years because of scheduling conflicts, I am finally able to attend and I am SO excited about it 🧜‍♀️

As an official photographer, I’ll be offering mini sessions during the Summit on Saturday June 20th, and honestly, I cannot wait to photograph more members of this incredible community. The tails, the creativity, the ocean magic, the absolute feral commitment to waterproof wig glue... I’m here for 👏🏻 all 👏🏻 of 👏🏻 it. I'm even going to bring MY tail!

These sessions will include both above and underwater images, though we’ll likely focus more heavily above water depending on visibility conditions. I have just SIX spots available.

This is for anyone who has ever wanted dramatic siren energy, dreamy ocean magic, or “I definitely lured sailors to their doom once” vibes! I seriously cannot wait to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones 🥰 Let's create some mermagic together!

If you'd like to book, link is in the first comment!

I love the hell out of old, crumbling buildings because they are so visually interesting.

And I guess the same goes for oxidized aquatic vehicles like this submarine. Look at that beautiful patina! It makes it look like a relic from some bygone era and might make you wonder about the stories it could tell, but don't be fooled because this vessel is in active service and she operates as a tourist sub, the only of its kind in Mexico.

I am probably too claustrophobic to ever board her but if you don't dive, she looks like a great way to visit the sunken wreck of the Felipe Xicotencatl (you can see it in a previous video I shared).

In this image, glides gracefully by the portholes while it's docked at the pier.

Thank you to for taking us to such a great location!

I am a very introspective person so I like to breadcrumb my way backwards to figure out how I got to a specific place, time, or experience.

For instance, I took this photo on Thursday of my friend st s beautiful cenote wearing one of my silks as a dress. I met Sue two years ago in Mexico at an underwater photography retreat and last March, Sue introduced me to my freediving instructor and friend, / . Thus began a pursuit to obtain my Level One freediving certification.

Now I’m freshly back from a week in Mexico with him and (and Sue!), expanding on my freediving and underwater photography skills as well as learning and doing underwater modeling. The modeling was especially important to me so I can better translate how to do this crazy stuff to YOU, my dear clients ❤️
In part because of Sue, I’m now a certified Freediver working on my level two with an incredible water community by my side.
I started freediving to more easily make photos like this but you could say freediving and I are in a relationship. You could say it’s serious 😂

Stay tuned for more to come very soon! I’m excited to share all my adventures either you.l!

Imagine showing up to work… and being sent home without pay.

That’s what a no-show does to a small business... and that's what happened to me today.

So if you’ve ever thought “it’s just one appointment,” this is your reminder that it’s not. This isn’t a hobby. This is how I pay my bills, my mortgage, and build my future. Small businesses are not faceless entities; there are real people behind them working and building.

Small businesses like mine operate on limited availability, high-touch service, and real overhead that exists whether someone shows up or not. When you book a session, I reserve that day for you. My focus is fully committed so I can give you my very best and create an incredible experience, and so you walk away with stellar images.

I love what I do, and I care deeply about the experience I create. That’s exactly why this matters.

Not everyone is ready and I do understand that.
You are always allowed to change your mind.
You are always allowed to say no.

But once you book, there’s also a responsibility to communicate that with me.

Respect goes both ways.
