Just a couple of Bald Eagles having a conversation. When I first heard a Bald Eagle vocalize I didn't know what to think - it didn't sound like the Bald Eagles in movies. Those Eagles have their voices dubbed with a Red Tailed Hawk because it sounds more majestic. Personally I love how Bald Eagles sound. This video was taken last winter in Monroe Michigan.

Most people drive right past Saginaw’s wetlands without realizing what’s hiding in the shallow waters, but I managed to catch a rare glimpse of something truly special. Watch closely as this gorgeous Marbled Godwit gracefully wades and forages, showing off that iconic, sword-like upturned bill. It’s not every day you spot one of these incredible shorebirds making a pit stop in Michigan.

Last week a juvenile Red Tailed Hawk was perched in a tree at Kensington Metropark in Milford Michigan. The Hawk noticed prey in front of me and launched. The last photo is the Hawk just before they missed their target. This was my second close call with these juvenile Red Taileds. Thankfully no talons in my face and I didn't need to change my pants.

An adult Little Blue Heron has been spending the summer at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge in Saginaw Michigan. This video was taken today - this is not alerted speed. Pretty cool how this bird hunts.
