Cuteness overload! 5 Green Heron babies at Magee Marsh. They are about 1 week old. They will leave the nest at around 2 to 2 1/2 weeks of age (thanks T.j.) and then they will hide on a limb where the parents will care for them.

A few of the beautiful Wood Ducks at Kensington Metropark Nature Center. I won't call them a family since males do not take part in caring for the ducklings.

Debut! Finally saw one of the new Ospry chicks. There's some debate as to whether there are 2 or 3 - we will know in the coming weeks.

There has been alot of activity in Windfall Bay. A 3rd Osprey has been in the area, causing both parents to take to the air to es**rt the 3rd one away. They were sparring pretty far away so I couldn't tell for certain, but it's possible the 3rd Osprey is immature - maybe one of last year's chicks.

This nest is getting huge! Bald Eagles use the same nest from year to year. In the fall and winter they add on - grass, leaves, mud and sticks - building up. The largest recorded nest, found in Alaska, was 20 feet deep and almost 10 feet in diameter and weighed about 4000 pounds.

This nest is only a few years old. I saw one eaglet yesterday (last photo).

This nest is in in Indpendence Township.

Yellow Warblers in flowering trees make me smile. Thank goodness there is a large cache of unedited photos on my hard drive. This was a tough year for spring Warbler photos - knowing that there were many wonderful memories from prior years was a relief.

I hope you stop and savor beauty throughout the day.
