Good morning! November greeted us with a chilly but beautiful sunrise yesterday morning, a lovely way to welcome a new month. Hopefully, November has plenty more beautiful scenes in store for us. We're looking at a party cloudy day ahead, but at least it will be a little warmer. Have a great one!

Good morning and happy Sunday! How is it already November? It seems like we were just welcoming October! A beautiful sunrise at Broadkill Beach and some lovely fall colors at Prime Hook. It's such a pretty time of year; I just wish it didn't go by so quickly! Hope you remembered to turn your clocks back and enjoy that extra hour of sleep. It's going to be a partly cloudy and cool day. Have a great one!

Good morning and happy Saturday! I'm not a fan of spiders, but I have to admire their incredible artwork! There's something magical about a spiderweb covered in fresh morning dew, each tiny droplet catching the light and revealing the intricate beauty of nature's handiwork. A little spooky, a little beautiful, and perfectly fitting for Halloween! Be safe and Happy Halloween! 🎃🍂

Good morning and happy Friday! What a beautiful, warm fall day to spend walking the trails at Trap Pond State Park with Susan McLean Photography! Trap Pond is such a special place, filled with natural beauty and a little history too. Located in Laurel, Delaware, the pond was created in the late 1700s to power a sawmill during a time when the area's forests were being harvested for timber.
Today, Trap Pond is best known for its beautiful bald cypress trees, part of the northernmost naturally occurring stands of bald cypress in the United States. These fascinating trees are conifers that lose their needles in the fall, turning beautiful shades of rusty orange and copper before winter. Their unusual roots, called 'knees,' rise above the water and add to the character of this peaceful landscape. It was a great time enjoying the fall colors, the reflections on the water, and the company of a good friend. Have a great one!

Good morning! Yesterday morning, after sunrise, I visited Herring Point at Cape Henlopen State Park, my first time in a while. I was surprised to find the massive 6,000-pound navigational buoy, washed ashore during the storm, still there! It was later removed by the Coast Guard using a CH-47F Chinook helicopter.

Also still on the beach was the sailboat that ran aground on October 18th. The sailor, traveling from New York to Baltimore, experienced engine trouble in choppy seas but made it safely ashore unharmed. Then, there was the beautiful moon, slowly preparing to set over the Breakwater Lighthouse. A little bit of everything along the coast yesterday morning! Have a great one!

Good morning and happy hump day! The sun sets over the marsh reeds at Prime Hook, painting the evening sky with beautiful colors. There's something so peaceful about watching the day slowly fade away, surrounded by nothing but the beauty of nature. It'll be another warm fall day with clouds in the afternoon. Have a great one!

Good morning! Always exciting to find a new bird to photograph! This little Palm Warbler was a first for me, and I was happy to add another species to my list. The Palm Warbler is an uncommon bird in our area, unlike most warblers that spend their time in the trees; this little one prefers to forage on the ground. They're also known for constantly bobbing their tails. These were taken out by the DuPont Nature Center. Another beautiful day ahead; have a great one!

Good morning! Starting the week with this beautiful Great Blue Heron perched high in a tree off Oyster Rocks Road. I usually spot these guys along the water, so it's always a treat to see one hanging out in the treetops, keeping an eye on everything below. We're in for a beautiful fall day with sunshine and warmer temperatures. Have a great one!
