I had the absolute privilege of photographing my very first proposal last weekend, and OMG what a moment it was! 🤍

I had no idea what was about to happen until just two minutes before he popped the question. He was nervously shaking with a ring tucked away in his pocket, and I was over here shaking right alongside him, making sure I didn’t miss a single moment.

I am beyond grateful that this sweet couple trusted me to capture their family photos, but for him to trust me with something so special and meaningful as asking the love of his life to marry him? That means more to me than words can explain.

Being able to capture these once in a lifetime moments is one of the many reasons I love what I do. Getting to freeze a memory that they’ll cherish forever is such a beautiful privilege, and I’ll never take that for granted. 🥹💍🤍

I’m convinced I met some of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people tonight. Actually, no… I know I did. 🤍

This sweet couple is celebrating their anniversary, and every year, they travel somewhere new and have photos taken to remember their adventures. This year, I was the lucky ducky who got to capture them with their newest little babe, and what an honor that was.

But the sweetest part of the evening happened as I was getting ready to leave. My daughter wanted to go down the slide, and this wonderful woman looked at me and asked, “Do you want me to take a picture of you going down the slide with her?”

I asked, “Are you sure?” And without hesitation, she said, “Absolutely! You’re a mom, too. You deserve these memories.”

Y’all. 🥹😭🤍

I showed her how to use my camera, and she took photos of Kazleigh and me going down the slide together. As a photographer, I spend so much of my time behind the camera, making sure other families have beautiful memories to look back on. Sometimes, I forget that I deserve to be in those memories, too.

And for a complete stranger to recognize that, offer to help, and remind me of something so simple yet so meaningful? That meant more to me than she probably realizes.

So yes, I absolutely had the privilege of meeting some of the best people tonight. Not only did I get to capture beautiful memories for them, but they gave me a beautiful memory of my own. 🫶🏼
