Recently, I’ve had the incredible honor of witnessing not one, but two precious little miracles. Two babies who, according to medical expectations, weren’t supposed to have much time here on earth. Yet both continued to defy the odds, reminding everyone around them that God is still in the miracle, working business.
This sweet baby girl fought so hard until the very end. She surpassed expectations, gave her family precious moments they weren’t ever promised, and when her time here was complete, she peacefully she closed those beautiful little eyes and went to sleep, and opened them in the arms of her Jesus. 🤍
It had been years since I had photographed sessions like these, and then God placed two precious families in front of my camera back to back. I don’t believe for one second that was a coincidence in these times we are living in. After our session, we prayed and agreed that her life would be used for a purpose.
I believe God has a purpose for every life he creates, no matter how many years, months, days, or even minutes that life is here on earth.Sometimes we get so caught up in praying for the miracle we want that we overlook the miracles God has already given us right there in front of us. The love, faith, and strength I’ve witnessed in their families and nurses, are testimonies of God’s goodness even in the middle of unimaginable heartbreak. The length of a life does not determine the depth of its purpose.
Some people spend an entire lifetime trying to make an impact, while these precious little babies have touched hearts, strengthened faith, and pointed people toward Jesus without ever speaking a single word!
It was never God’s original design for us to experience death, heartbreak, or separation from the ones we love. But because sin entered this world, so did suffering and death. Yet even in our brokenness, God loved us enough to send HIS son Jesus, so that death would never have the final word! Eternity in paradise was always the plan.
So my friends, that’s the beautiful promise we have in Christ. This world is not our forever home. One day there will be no more sickness, no more suffering, no more grieving parents, and no more goodbyes. Just eternity in the presence of our savior. We will never fully understand why some lives are so short, I believe with all my heart that God can use even the smallest life to tell the greatest story of HIS love and wonder.
For those who belong to Christ, our last breath here is not the end of our story, but the the beginning of forever with Him.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain.” Revelation 21:4
