Some people you meet and they leave an impact on your heart forever! ♥️

When I first started photography, I had the honor of photographing Doug & Deana Robbins vow renewal. ♥️ From the very beginning there was something so genuine, loving, and special about them. 🤗

Deana had one of those beautiful souls you could feel instantly, kind, warm, full of light, and the love between them was so apparent. We stayed in touch over the years.

Yesterday, I saw the heartbreaking news that Deana has suddenly gone home to be with Jesus. 😔😇 ➕ My heart aches for her husband Doug and everyone who loved her.

I’m grateful God connected our paths though and that I was able to capture these memories for them, moments that now mean even more!!!

Photography is more than pictures, it’s freezing love, connection and pieces of time 🕒 we can hold onto forever!

Please keep Doug and their family in your prayers during this difficult time. 🙏🙏

People see a $550 photoshoot and think photographers are taking home $550 in profit… and I promise that’s not reality 🥹

What most people don’t see is everything that goes on behind the scenes of running a photography business.

A session payment doesn’t just go into my pocket. It goes toward:

✨ taxes
✨ gallery delivery + website fees
✨ editing software subscriptions
✨ SD cards + hard drives
✨ camera bodies + lenses
✨ props + setups
✨ gas/travel
✨ advertising
✨ continuing education
✨ equipment maintenance/upgrades

And then there’s the biggest thing of all....TIME! 🕒

The actual session is only a tiny portion of the job. There’s hours spent planning, communicating, culling galleries, hand editing images, delivering galleries, bookkeeping, answering messages/emails, ordering props, cleaning up behind studio sessions and so much more that nobody really sees.

Photography is so much more than “just taking pictures.” It’s a full business, a creative service, and honestly a huge labor of love! ♥️😍

I completely understand that professional photography isn’t in everyone’s budget, and that’s okay! But I’ll always be thankful for the clients who value the work, time, and heart that goes into creating these memories!!! 🫶 📸 ♥️
