Nate and Scott did not bring a traditional wedding party to Destin. They brought their best friends...which is much better.⁠

They rented a huge beach house, gathered 20 of the people they love most, and spent the week celebrating together. By the time we reached the beach for wedding party photos, everyone was fully committed to the assignment. Lots of hugs, lots of laughing, and absolutely no trouble figuring out who the fun friends are.⁠

Kate’s veil fell around her shoulders like a cloud, framing her beautiful curls, and the huge peonies in her bouquet looked perfect with her lace gown. There was so much softness in these few minutes before the ceremony.⁠

There was really only one way for the owner of the Pensacola Ice Flyers to enter his wedding reception. 🏒⁠

Sanri and Greg ran through a tunnel of hockey sticks while their guests cheered them onto the dance floor, and it was every bit as fun as it looks. Even Maverick, the Ice Flyers mascot, showed up to help celebrate!⁠

This spring was WET, and Megan and Noah’s wedding day joined right in. The clear umbrella went with us from Old Christ Church to the yacht club, and Megan changed into sneakers to walk the dock without a second thought.⁠

I kept coming back to these in black and white. The gray sky, the sailboats, the wet boards...it all just worked. And Megan and Noah still look like they were having the best time. 🤍⁠

Reed’s dress was made to move. She gathered her skirt, Zane carried her bouquet, and the two of them walked around together looking very happily married.⁠

Nothing elaborate was needed. The clean lines of her gown, that long veil, and the way they kept looking at each other were more than enough.⁠

I love when couples choose to read their vows privately. There is something so special about stepping away from everyone for a few minutes and saying the things that are meant only for each other - no microphone, no audience, and no pressure.⁠
⁠
It creates a quiet little pause in the middle of a very full wedding day, and I get to photograph it from a distance while giving them space to be completely present with each other. The laughter, the tears, the long hug afterward - it all feels incredibly real and completely theirs.⁠

Private vows will always be one of my favorite wedding-day moments. 🤍⁠

Same moment, two completely different photographs.

I was outside Villa Pizzo photographing Perla and Chris in that gorgeous doorway while Tiffany was inside, photographing them as they walked toward the lake.

This is the beauty of having two photographers, especially when one of them is Tiffany. She is a primary photographer with just as much experience as I have, and it is such a pleasure shooting beside her. I can commit to the angle I see and know that everything outside my view is being photographed just as beautifully as if I were standing there myself.

Also, Villa Pizzo was really showing off. Inside, outside, toward the lake, toward the villa…gorgeous from every single angle. 🇮🇹

Okay, this CEREMONY.

Perla and Chris were married on the terrace at Villa Pizzo with Lake Como behind them…casual. And Perla’s ceremony look! She added that gorgeous couture lace jacket and a cathedral-length blusher veil, and I mean, LOOK at her.

A few minutes later, the veil was lifted, they were married, and I got to keep photographing them in this ridiculous place. 🤍

Perla and Chris got married yesterday at Villa Pizzo on Lake Como, which still feels like a sentence I made up.

Afterward, we climbed onto a wooden boat and cruised past the villa where they had just said their vows. That’s Villa Pizzo behind them in the first photo. The mountains, the water, the boat…Lake Como really does not need our help. 🇮🇹
