Raise your hand if you feel like life is moving faster than you expected. 🙋🏼‍♀️ Trust me, with 3 young kids, I am IN IT WITH YOU!

The good news? You won’t remember the craziness! You won’t remember your kids misbehaving. You won’t remember that planning outfits took forever.

What WILL you remember? The photo of you and your little one giving scrunchy nose kisses, because it’s documented.

This phase of life doesn’t last!! Even though it’s messy and frazzled, it is oh-so-precious.

Here’s what I know: there’s no perfect time for photos. But spring in Colorado? It’s pretty close. ☀️

Everything is soft and green, the light is doing its thing, and your family is exactly worth documenting right now, messy schedules and all.

The sessions that turn out the best are almost never the ones where everything went perfectly.

They’re the ones where a kid made a ridiculous face at exactly the right moment (swipe to see! 🤣). Where someone laughed too hard and couldn’t stop. Or the toddler had approximately zero interest in cooperating, and somehow that became the best frame of the day.

Real life photographs well. More than people think.

What actually makes a session work isn’t a perfectly coordinated family or a spotless house or a day when everyone wakes up on the right side of the bed.

It’s just showing up. The rest takes care of itself, and I’m here to capture it!! 🤗

I booked my own family photoshoot with another photographer!

Puppy included.

Which, yes, means photographing a three month old puppy (Cali) who has the attention span of a crouton, will definitely be running all over the place and almost impossible to photograph. 🤪

But I know better than anyone that these phases don’t hold still. Cali is already bigger than she was two weeks ago. The kids are already a little older. This specific, chaotic, wonderful version of our family only exists right now.

So I’m doing it. Mess and all, at the end of the crazy school year.

There’s this moment every spring where everything just looks different here.

The trees fill back in. The mountains have that mix of snow and green that only happens for a few weeks.

The light hits different than it does in summer - softer, warmer, without the harsh midday intensity.

It’s the kind of thing that’s easy to forget about until you’re in the middle of it again and you think, ‘oh-this is why people love Colorado.’

Just wanted to say that out loud today. Go outside if you can. It’s worth it right now!!! ☀️
