⛰️ Epic Engagement Session

I have done so many engagements over the past year and each is so memorable. I had never had this happen, where the question popping happens out of my view. They walked up to me and Grant said "Hey Sarah!" and I didn't know it had already happened and I said "Hey... how are you?" so confused 😂 He was not supposed to know me yet. I was supposed to be a birdwatcher and he was supposed to say hi and ask me to take their photo. It was hilarious! We laughed so hard and it was one of my favorite sessions ever!

MAMA in full bloom. I so enjoyed this maternity session. We had a field full of dried sage bushes. However the family brought all of the color that was needed to welcome baby girl. .

🌵 Joshua Tree Wedding with Friends
⛰️ Joshua Tree Wedding

This Joshua Tree Wedding was one for the books! It was a post wedding session that they had scheduled. Cynthia and Leslee got married in the park the day before. Saturday all of their friends were supposed to go hiking and then meet for a picnic lunch at Cap Rock, where I was to meet them for a photo session. I waited in the parking lot for what seemed like forever! The shoot time came and went, and just as I was about to leave the whole party showed up.

In 10 minutes I got some good shots of all involved, but I had another session scheduled in Rancho Mirage so I had to go. I won't ever forget it! They were driving a 2021 Toyota Landcruiser, with a Stanford lisince plate frame. If you know me at all you know I was excited. Felt meant to be even though things didn't go as planned.

I was so impressed with the dress she chose for her milestone birthday session. It was gorgeous, to match the soul of Joanna. 💕 We used a mix of digital and two different film stocks. I love how vibrant the digital images [slides 1 & 4] are, and at the same time the muted tones and shadows of the Kodak Kodacolor film [slide 2] are so dreamy. Then the Ilford black and white [slide 3] gave the gallery a timeless feeling that digital cannot replicate. It was one of my most favorite galleries this year.
