Photographing this family-centered engagement session at Mission Creek Preserve felt less like documenting a proposal season and more like witnessing a living love story already in bloom.

There’s something about the desert and a good story. The weathered wood, the dust in the air, the sharp noon light, the feeling that every doorway could hold a legend. This western-inspired portrait session in Pioneertown felt like stepping into another era for an afternoon — cinematic, playful, and timeless all at once.

Rain on the dock, pine trees all around, and the happiest “yes” I’ve ever witnessed. This sweet Idyllwild engagement session was full of laughter, tenderness, matching rings for each other, and one incredibly adorable ugly dog — a corgi pitbull mix who completely stole the show.

One of my favorite things about photographing love is getting to witness people create their own traditions. The joy between these two felt effortless, grounded, and entirely their own.
