Our latest podcast episode is up and it’s all about the season Vision Casting meetings we have for the studio! We plan new studio initiatives, make goals and work through sticky problems, of course. But we also set aside time to be active - walking, swimming, bike riding, paddle boarding. This last planning trip was in Palm Springs so our activities also included a lot of personal branding shoots for one another.

46 Minutes With Kia Bondurant, Hosted by David Beckham. Friday September 18th at 12:00 noon EST. Each month David will be talking with someone in the Photography World. The first one will be with me, Kia from Bondurant Studios in Kansas. She has been a leader and educator in the Senior Photography Industry for over 20 years. We're gonna talk about vibrant colors, cool new haircuts, the dreaded Covid and staying ahead of all of the changes in our business! School started remotely for this guy yesterday. We didn’t expect 7th grade to be as low stress as deciding which couch to sit on in the living room. We shot this set of images at the end of May. Can’t believe how much he’s grown up since then! Can you see the difference in today’s story? Time for another session, but do I have enough money for another boy photo shoot bribe? These things are costly! Good luck to all you parents out there schooling your kids in unexpected ways!! And good luck to all you kids doing school, especially the 2021 seniors. You are resilient and I know you can do it!! @ Bondurant Studios

It’s September 1 - my favorite time for a new beginning and to think back over the season before. So, in this slider are some of the images that represent things I’ve been working on throughout the summer as a photographer.
1. Well, this image is me, ready for fall, but before I cut my hair. Look for new images of me soon!!
2. Loving my floral wall mural and shooting artsy crops.
3. Probably one of my favorite images of the season. Love her hands, hair and expression. I’m working on soulful eyes.
4. The pink and rainbow stairs we painted. Just yay!!
5. Our guys edition shoots - lighting, grit, mood. Bringing that masculine edge in!
6. The gold couch painted white. My kids worked on it for days after the stay at home ended and I have such good feelings about it even though it is not easy to move. Love this bright pillow look with it too!!
7. Playful and pink. Can’t go very far from it!
8. Every time we do this pose with a ballerina, I feel a sense of accomplishment. Living vicariously, anyone?
9. Brings me back to my hometown roots, even though this was shot right in front of the studio. So fun to photograph our guys!
10. I didn’t shoot this image, our other studio photographer did. Such a lovely feeling and I delight in what she’s shooting for the studio too!
I’m so proud of the summer season and our wonderful 2021 seniors. Can’t wait for fall, families and catching up with everyone!

If you are wondering what I’ve been up this summer, I’ve been shooting senior sessions with amazing people. I’m keeping up my posting schedule and behind the scenes stories over on but this account has taken a back seat during the last few weeks. Never fear, things will be slowing down with senior portraits as some of our local schools start up. I’ll keep shooting senior sessions throughout the fall but we’ll transition into fall families and business branding work too. Can’t wait to share all the fun images and great memories we’ve been creating!
